This the part to understand, & why I sold my 2 small BWV to replace someday in my regular UY.
Just based on questions over the years it stems from some thinking UY and booking window are connected.

We were not using our direct points to stay. Do you even need to be staying to do it? I thought you just needed to be MMB. When we went we were the only one there, a family came in as we were leaving but other than that nobody else.
I didnt see that in the restrictions details. I would've not been happy. https://disneyvacationclub.disney.go.com/faq/membership-magic-beyond/character-experience/accessI tried to go into the lounge during MMB only hours but was turned away at the Epcot lounge because I was not staying on points.
I have not yet tried to get priority lounge access during regular hours without staying on points.

Couldn't find those, as usual finding info on the DVC site isnt the easiest. It may be in the T and Cs though.

Thanks. I guess if you need more than 4 people to enter then a reservation would come into play. But for under 4 I dont see that clause unless they expect me to assume that a reservation is required even though they don't explicitly state that.

I remember seeing it was once, but honestly thought it was per day, so I likely didnt read it in closely. But yes we were the only ones there and it was Easter weekend when we went.I have to find it because you can only go once per reservation stay as well for that special event.
Split stays would give you an extra visit. Or, they have updated things because it’s never very crowded and no longer care.
If you have a recurring trip for which these points are intended, I would pikc the UY that has the other points you plan to use for that trip. One year's worth of points is probably not enough to saddle yourself with an annual juggling act going forward.Thoughts for anyone who has done this? I would want the ability to combine to book larger rooms but since I have to wait until 7 months anyway, I’m not sure if it’ll be that big of a deal.
It would definitely increase the amount of breakage….One thing that occurs to me: I do not think the governing documents require that there be a transfer mechanism. Other developers have completely eliminated transfers. I don't think that is likely to happen with DVC, but I don't know that it can't.
I have multiple UYs. I have no problem with it. The big thing, as far as I'm concerned, is this: each UY need needs to have enough points to make whole vacations. If you have that, as far as I'm concerned, you're probably fine. The problems are when people have 50 points in one UY, 60 in another, and so on.My goal is to eventually have two use years, with enough points in both so that I never have to worry about a transfer to combine points. I would love to borrowfrom one every other year and bank from one every other year (essentially acting as if I only have one contract to use per year).
Anyone doing that now and how do you like doing it? I currently only have one use year. I’m aware that adding another complicates things a bit. I’m also aware that the the constant borrowing/banking would not always be ideal.
I do, I have direct Riviera points with a February UY and direct Poly points with an October UY. I asked my guide for October the second time around and they agreed after speaking with a manager.Curious (and I may have missed this as I just scanned through some other threads) does anyone have direct points across two UYs? Long story short - I missed the boat adding on in May for my June UY but still would like to do it and utilize MB for 2024. My second UY is December and currently doesn’t have any direct points.
I’d primarily use these new points for spring break (March) so a Dec UY would work well for that and not risk changes after June’s banking deadline. I also would love to go the Favorite Week route again, and this would open up some new options that wasn’t possible for June.

Welcome thoughts of those who have done this already!
