Need opinions ASAP---Mazda CX9

We are thinking of buying one of these as soon as Monday, so I would appreciate any advice/opinions you could share. I have always driven small cars so this would be quite a change for me. Thanks!

I don't own one, but my BFF does. She and her hubby love it. So much so, they are thinking of getting a 2nd one to replace their mid-size car. I thought it was really nice when we visited them.

We bought ours in Sept 2007 and I really enjoy driving it. Ours is the Grand Touring AWD and we like all the features. "Extras" included the DVD entertainment system, rear view camera & navigation and we added luggage rails. Also the cargo net & rubber mats but only because the one I wanted came with them.

Great to have the 3rd row when we are carting around our kids' friends. While I am not a big person, I have even ridden back there on occasion when the in-laws are in town and didn't find it uncomfortable at all.

Like the space I have with the 3rd row down ... always enough room even after a huge shopping spree at the grocery.

Have only taken on one extended trip ... to Disney ... it and worked out fine. Lots of luggage too since were were gone for 2 weeks. We all rode comfortably. Kids had the DVD player to keep them entertained.

Have not had any issues except one ... the transfer case cracked on mine and when it did, the car made terrible noises when trying to turn. Sometimes it did and then sometimes not, but after taking it in and getting it to reproduce they replaced no problem. My understanding is that is not something that normally happens to any car.

I like that it is still a great car for the kids (ages 11 & 9) without having to drive a minivan (which I had). Definitely feel much cooler driving the CX-9 especially when I am alone than I ever did in the minivan.

I bought my 2010 CX-9 GT in December...replacing a Honda CR-V.

I love mine and would not give it up.

The only bad thing is the gas mileage. I am averaging about 15.5 around town which is what I mostly drive. Have been on 1 road trip and got 25.8.
