Anybody who has either stroller. I have a bugaboo and I am trying to decide if I want to hal it to Disney. It is not a very compact stroller. However we are staying at a monorail resort and for the most part we usually just hang out at MK. Or for those of you that have a Mclaren what do you think. I was thinking of buying a maclaren umbrella stroller for the trip and was tring to decide between the the volvo, triumph or quest. I really don't want to buy a new stroller but the bugaboo seems so big to take yo disney.

Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks.

Well it depends on what you're looking for. The Bugaboo has better sun protection & recline so your LO can nap if needed. But as you know, the fold is a pain. As long as you are staying in a monorail hotel & only going to monorail parks, then I'd go w/ the Bug. But if you have to take a bus, it will be a nightmare. Just think....you will load it up w/ bags, baby etc. Then have to take it apart, take the bags out, take baby out, load it onto the bus. Then unfold it, put bags & baby back in, just to do the same when you leave the park. If you are planning on doing several different parks, I would get a Maclaren.....I would recomend getting one with a recline (Triumph) so your LO can nap if he/she gets tired.

We have the Volvo and Triumph and love them. They are great for the parks. Lightweight, manuver in crowds well and fold easily. Only problem is they are an umbrella and do not support much weight on the back so there are some tipping issues when the kids get up from the stroller with anything on th back. I just carry a backpack with our daily stuff in it. We decided to buy two of them for each of the kids instead of the double just for trips like DISNEY!!!:mickeyjum

How old is your child?

We have a Quest and it's great, but it's really better for toddlers (2+) IMO. We are taking our old Peg stroller. It's bigger, does a full recline, and has more storage. There is no way my 2 yo would nap in the quest unless she was exhausted, but she will in our Peg.

I actually think the Peg P3 is the perfect Disney stroller. It has great sun coverage, full recline for naps, snack tray (also great place for a clip on fan), roomy storage, won't tip over if you have a big bag on the back & the child gets out etc. etc.

It is for my two year old. She is a little two though (19 pounds). But I also have a five year old so I thought it would be perfect to get the Maclaren because my older dd isn't over the way limit if she wanted to ride at some point.

We rented a double last year at the park but it isn't feesable this year. We are actually just doing a five night trip. I kind of suckered my husband into it. I love Disney but it's not his favorite place.

So If I buy a maclaren which one should I buy??

I would get the triumph since it has some recline but isn't as pricey as the Quest. You can probably find a good deal at albeebaby.com or babydealz.com

Do you think there is a huge difference between the two feature wise because the price isn't substantially difference. Thanks in advance!

The main difference is that the Quest has a full (or almost full) recline & the Triumph is a 75% recline. The Quest also has the drop-down UV protection thingy & extendable leg rest, and of course w/ the extra features, the Quest is a bit heavier. I don't think any of those features will make or break your trip, so I'd find one you like to look at & buy that one. :)

I don't like the Maclarens because they tip really easy. I bought a Quinny Zapp and took it to Disney last year. I love it!

I have a Bugaboo, Mac Quest & the mentioned P3, I'd say if you love your Bug you won't LOVE the Mac. I do LOVE ours but for trips in the mall, etc. It's ok to use in WDW I've taken all 3 strollers indivdually, amongst others....The Macs don't offer a great amount of sun coverage, they are tippy when loaded down as strollers seem to get, and while the Quest reclines with extendable foot rest it's not nearly as comfy as a Bug.

The Bug is a pain as well if you do have to fold it for anything flying, etc. I only take ours if we drive and I can use it on our one park only days then take a back up stroller for our heavy travel days. Altho the parasol in the hands of a toddler makes for good crowd control  experience....

Lots of sites are offering P3s in 08 colorways for good prices. If you're only taking one stroller and think your child will nap at all in it you'd be better off investing in a Peg P3. The hood offers great sun coverage, I don't think you can tip it on a dare (we know how to weigh down a stroller), it folds like an umbrella stroller, has a step on the back for an older child to stand on (part of the frame no additional purchase required), a 45 or 50lb weight limit, great recline, and much plusher fabrics.

Has anyone used the Chicco umbrella type strollers in the parks? My son has a Graco Quatro Tour DLX stroller but he is starting to outgrow it and really it is just too big and bulky to travel with. I was thinking about getting a Chicco umbrella stroller but I am just wondering how it would hold up in the parks and how easy is it to fold and unfold to get on/off buses, boats, etc?

We've seen lots of them in WDW, so they are popular.

My 10 cents suggestion is to remember that you have two little people. And they will likely both want to sit/rest (and you will want them both to sit) at some point on the trip. We have two boys, now 3 and 6, and when the youngest was born bought a maclaren twin duo (the nicer of the two doubles they have with hearty wheels). Having taken both kids to Europe with this stroller, twice, and cross country time zone trips as well, this past Nov we went to WDW with both kids and we had to decide to bring it or not.. We brought it, and I can't say enough about how helpful it was to have a place for both to sit and chill when needed in the park. Especially with crowds of people. It made it easier for us to travel and navigate. They were 3 and 6 in Nov, but my 6 yr old got tired, and he is a healthy active kid. It was helpful for us also, just sanity wise, so we knew where both were!
We are going back for their June Bdays, and I am not sure I can justify the double for a 4 & 7 yr old, but will bring my quest single that I have for the 4 yr old.
But my point is that a 5yr old isn't that big, and a PP a few posts back mentioned the ledge on the Peg 3 for a toddler to stand on, and it is a good idea... I don't know if that kind of attachment will work on any of the Maclarens... we bought a new Peg the one that is a step above the P3 for my now 3yr old, and I wish I would have just gotten another P3, for that exact reason. The one we bought has a solid handle, so no one can "stand" on the back bar like on the P3. We used our original one so much it was trashed and we needed to get a new one, and should have gotten the other model.

At anyrate, just my 10 cents, er, now 50 cents, worth on the topic!!!

We have taken the twin techno 5 times and love it. We try to go during off season, and the monorails aren't that crowded. They are all fitted for wheelchair seating now, so if there is no one in need of that spot, we just roll our double stroller right on. Again...as long as its not to crowded and if no one needs the wheelchair spot.

We drive to most the parks and avoid the parking lot trams so we don't have to break down the stroller.
