I recently purchased a dvc stay on ebay. I checked out the seller, he has great feedback, top rated seller and have communicated with him by e-mail many times before booking. I received my confirmation, double checked it at dvc online link to check reservations. I recently tried contacting him again and no response. I also saw a couple of recent feedback entries of a couple others who were unable to contact him.
What do I do? How long do you think is fair to wait for him to respond...god forbid something happened to him or his family. I'm so afraid my reservation is going to show up cancelled at the last minute. I also want to add dining. I can't do that on my own, can I? I don't want to over react to quickly but the whole thing makes me nervous. Any opinions or advice would be welcome.

if you can't find the reservation at http://MyDisneyReservation.com/DVC - then that's not good...as long as you can see the reservation, i'd give the owner a week or so before starting to panic...

you can make dining reservations but you cannot add the DDP. the owner needs to add the DDP at least 48 hours in advance to get it (and you would have to pay the owner at that time or else arrange a conference call between the owner/you and DVC.)

I did the find the reservation and I have a hard copy sent from Disney. I still nervous...but I'll wait another week before panicking.

I want to ease your worry.... If the ebayer has a good record, you got the
reservation in hand and it is still active. Then I wouldn't worry. More likely
the ebayer is on vacation and is without a computer. When I go on vacation
I do not use a computer at all.

So take a couple of weeks off from worrying.

Good luck!

I have a reservation like yours also, I just check the reservation regularly. Often sellers have points available to a while and when out do to monitor communicatioin as often after that so I would not panic

Thanks guys. I like the price of renting but hate the lack of control. In the past we've used someone we know but the price was right for this listing. He is also listed as a top rated seller through ebay. My biggest fear is that it would be 2 weeks before we go and reservation gets cancelled. I guess I'm just being a worry wort.

i hated the lack of control, too. that's why i bought in (plus, it's a little cheaper...as long as you are ok with making a long term commitment to the mouse...)

Oh believe me I would love to...but dbf won't go for it.

I filed a dispute through ebay and hope to get my money back. Several others who he sold to have contacted me and no one can get ahold of him.
Voicemail box is full, won't return calls, even tried him on facebook. One woman who is leaving in 3 weeks now can't book dining plan or transfers because he has to do it and no one can get a response from him. Wish me luck. Now I have to start all over again.

I'm sorry to hear your story. I hope you can get your money back and plan another vacation.

Has anyone left feedback that actually says their reservation was canceled and they didn't get the trip they paid for? If not, I'm not sure what basis you have for a dispute to be filed though ebay. I would think you wouldn't be able to get your money back until you get to Disney and find you really had no reservation. So far, the owner has delivered as promisied.

Yes several people who paid recently, never got their vacation booked. One woman who is going in a couple weeks is now not able to add the dining plan because no one can get in touch with him and Disney won't add it without the owner calling even after she explained the circumstances. One person won their dispute already. They were supposed to be on their vacation yesterday and weren't able to go because of circumstances with the seller.
I have a feeling the seller got in over his head. I'm not talking about 5 people who booked through him...I'm talking more like 25-30.

Hopefully things work out. I have a friend who owns DVC who is booking for us as soon as the 7 mos window opens. It will cost more but at least I'll have peace of mind.

I understand if there are issues where someone may not be able to contact you for a week or so. But if dealing with people's vacations, you need to be available. At least we have time to figure something out. There are few people that are heading down, hoping and praying they still have a reservation when they get there.

Looks like we've got the exact same dates booked from this same seller. My reservation is still active as of today.

Check on mydisneyreservation.com if its ok on that site your fine. I've made reseravtions both through the DVC and through Disney itself and never had such a problem, perhaps the gentleman had other problems. Good Luck
