yummo non signature restaurants. We like foods like barbecue, steaks, burgers and those cute mini deserts. What choices would be good for us. Looking for tasty food, since will be paying OOP. Thanks;)

I just replied to a thread and professed our love for GF Cafe but it fits the bill here too - burgers, steaks, and WONDERFUL desserts!

We never, ever, ever, never, ever :goodvibes miss the turkey legs at the MK. Great snack or even meal, they are huge!! We then sit on the rocking chairs by the Country Bears and enjoy them. You can hear the screams from Big Thunder Mountain and Splash Mountain in the background, the music, and the Riverboat will go by as you sit there usually. Smokey, big turkey legs in Frontierland is a must in my book!!:thumbsup2

DD mentioned GF Cafe for their deserts especially. I remember seeing a picture of 4 mini deserts (creme brulee, cheesecake, tiramasu and chocolate cake) and can't get that picture out of my head.:goodvibespopcorn::

Try The Wave at the Contemporary. Not only do they have some great entree options, but all of the desserts are actually 3 mini desserts.

We also love the min desserts at the Cape May Cafe, although we haven't been there in a few years.

Since you are paying OOP you may want to consider the Garden View Tea at GF. You don't have to be a tea lover. They offer a variety of beverages, including adult.
Maya Grill is yummy. As is the Turf Club, Sanaa, Boma, Prime Time, Biergarten, ....
Lots of plsces. :)

The lunch skillet at Whispering Canyon is really yummy ($17- ribs, chicken, sausage, & tasty sides) and it's one of Disney's least expensive all-you-care-to-eat lunch options. My DMom also loves the lunch buffet ($15-fried chicken, bbq pork, salad bar, sides, & desserts) at Trail's End.

Wcc and 50's was top on our list. But couldn't get into either. :sad1:We did get our fav which is Olivia's. Also got GF Cafe and Kona. At least we are happy with those choices this week. ;) Who knows, if I keep reading this board, I may change my mind again. :upsidedow

For sit down meals I would suggest Whispering Canyon Cafe, great bbq skillet.

For counter service burgers.......Cosmic Ray's at MK and Restaurantasaurus at AK. Loved those burgers.

Another vote for the Trail's end (we like the dinner selection better) but the buffet is only about $20 and it is the same food that they serve at the Hoop Dee Do.
Ask for the manager Jimmy.....if you tell him you've heard of him and how nice he is and how much he likes herbie the love bug movies, he might slip you a special order of the Hoop Dee Do strawberry shortcake (he sent for some for us last time we were there because a person in our group had never tried it).
Oh, and it's really nice to look around Ft. Wilderness. The boat ride is great, especially if you go when the fireworks are going....nice private cruise for free!
The busses to Ft. wilderness are show though.....consider taking a boat there from MK or Wilderness lodge.
