We leave in just 19 days and stood my daughter at the wall this AM and she reaches 39 inches. Any tips on how to get that extra inch that would allow her to see a whole side of the rides she hasn't yet enjoyed? Will the CM's give a the benefit of the doubt? She is dying to do BTMRR.

oh yes, we were there last year. One more bit of advice - high ponytails and hair scrunchies. Soarin' was the only one that wouldn't let her in - they measured very closely (they could slide a thin piece of cardboard between her head and the bar ). She was crushed, but this year was proudly 42 inches and rode Soarin' 3 times!

Be careful about trying to get her hopes up to get on. My dd was about 41" when she first went, and although she measured up TWICE before the end of the BTMRR , the lady loading the train gave her a hard time, and started shoving her head against the bar! I couldn't believe it!! The way she was handling my child.. ( with all going on, i didn't get her badge name, but SHOULD have!!) Anyway, they let her on, since she did measure up.. but they can definately be tricky about letting them on.
My dd is THRILLED she is now 47" (got measured at the dr. the other day!) and will now be riding Space Mt. for her first time in 2 weeks when we go..

They set the height requirements for safety reasons. If your child isn't tall enough on this trip, the CMs will sometimes give them a pass to get on the ride the next time when they are tall enough.

my son was too short for Rock n Rollercoaster. He then took off his shoes and socks, stuffed the socks in his shoes, put on the shoes and measued again and he was tall enough. We were so excited!

Heck why put her in a carseat or seat belt because she be unhappy. those height rules are there for a reason.What really kills me is people will sue if there child gets hurt on a ride that they lied about to get on.whoo, I fill better now that i said that. just follow the rules

I recommend purchasing an old medieval rack and stretching her out a couple of times. You should get that inch

I can attest to that one. We went to AK on the 31st and our DS4 was two inches too short to ride EE. CM Kimberly gave us a Rider Switch FP and a pass for our son when he is tall enough. We going to keep that in the scrap book we will be making for him.

I also agree with a few others that have said the height requirements are there for a reason. Our DS was upset that he couldn't go on EE but I told him the reason why he couldn't was for his safety. We don't want him sliding out from under the bar that goes across the lap and go flying. Safety comes first for our DS and I would never forgive myself if anything happened to him.

The CMs will not be fooled by ponytails or platform shoes - we've seen them ask kids to take off their high shoes, and measure heads beside the ponytail, not on the ponytail.

I wouldn't try to fake an inch.. the height restrictions are there for a reason, and should be observed. In addition, the CM's are trained to watch out for those platform shoes, and high ponytails. I actually saw a CM have a child take their shoes off on our last trip, and remeasure! Needless to say, the child didn't ride!

I think this comment was a little far fetched..
Think about it..................... If ONE INCH could mean life or death for ANY rider, I don't think that ride would be around long enough to even make it to a park! Remember, she is talking about an INCH or LESS....... It is not like she is trying to pass her for 6" taller than she is!! I don't think there is a need to jump on the OP for this!

Just a reminder...as the day goes on and your child becomes more tired, he/she will begin to slump a little. So, even if your child is tall enough at home, he/she may not be able to stand quite that tall after a day at the parks and, therefore, may not measure up. It's best not to get your child's hopes up about riding a ride until they get measured at the park, just in case. (BTW, this is a reminder to myself also b/c my DD is waiting to ride RnR and I'm making a t-shirt for her about it. But, I have to remember that she may not actually be tall enough.)

So, are rides mostly 40" or 42"? My one daughter is 43" and the other is 40" I think.....

I know I won't let my taller daughter ride anything that my shorter daughter can't ride. As twins, my older, yet shorter daughter seems to have a hard time dealing with being the "little" twin.

Thank goodness my twins are tall enough for everything this time. Last time was 7 years ago when they were 3 and we only rode things for them. Now they are able to ride everything. For a long time one of the twins was way taller than the other but now they are about even. I still have one that may not want to ride everything. We will not be doing tower of terror or mission space. Not sure about rock n roll rollercoaster? I agree about the safety issue. When we went to Astroworld (six flags), my smaller twin was tall enough but seemed to thin for some coasters. It really made me nervous when the bars would not fit against him. I always held my arm across him just in case. I know the op will have fun with the kids no matter what.
