I am in need of a little dis help. I am helping my best friend and his SO plan their first trip to Disney together. I am in the process of helping them decide what restaurants to eat at. They are vegetarians and will be on the dining plan for 6 nights and have 5 table services chosen so far.

They are:
1. Crystal Palace (dinner)
2. Restaurant Marrakesh
3. Mama Melrose (Fantasmic dinner package)
4. San Angel Inn
5. Boma

I tried to read quite a few vegetarian dining reviews and checked out the menus on allearsnet to get an idea of veggie options available at each restaurant. At first they were interested in eating at Biergarten but they don't seem to have many vegetarian options. So I need help. Can any vegetarians help us choose one more place for them to eat??? They would prefer to stay in the parks but will try a resort restaurant if it is good. They have park hoppers so it can be in any park. Pretty much what I'm saying is... where can they have a good vegetarian meal, other than the places we have already picked.

Thanks!:thumbsup2

How about a breakfast? Dd and I are vegetarians and I find that breakfast is the easiest for for us as vegetarians (vegan would be much harder though).

My favorite is Chef Mickey's. Lots of choices and you can walk over from MK or ride the monorail. We usually book a late breakfast so we skip lunch.

I also like the veggie meal at Liberty Tree Tavern during lunch. It's a nice break from the standard veggie pasta meals.

The California Grill is extremely vegetarian-friendly. It takes two credits, but I don't think you can use a credit for the Fantasmic dinner package, so maybe that's where they could pick one up.

Citrico's had a great tofu dish last time I ate there, so that's another thought. DH and I really like to get OUT of the parks for dinner, and we feel the resort restaurants actually have better food, for the most part.

Thanks for the recommendation. I did talk to them about maybe doing a signature dining one night but being economically minded they decided they would rather have 2 meals for 2 credits instead of 1 meal for 2 credits. (by the way I am dying to try California Grill myself someday)

Also I double checked and they can use the dining plan for the Fantasmic dinner package.

Please keep the suggestions coming!!:wizard:

I'm a vegetarian (not vegan) and my favorite meal last year was at Rose & Crown. The cheese plate was to die for, the pastry with curry sauce was fantastic (and huge), and the toffee pudding was divine.

I also like the appetizers at Spoodles, but wasn't wild about the vegetarian entree.

And I loved the entree I had at Le Cellier (go figure), but found the appetizer selection lacking. The same for Whispering Canyon Cafe.

'Ohana was also very good, but it would probably feel weird to eat there without at least one meat-eater in the group.

Actually, Biergarten was just fine for me--I'm a lacto-ovo vegetarian.

Would they be willing to go to Downtown Disney? Wolfgang Puck's is nice and there are lots of choices for vegetarians.

I had the best meal at Coral Reef, loved it!

If they are willing to go to DTD, my daughter's favorite vegetarian meal was the pumpkin ravoli at Wolfgang Puck's Cafe. The waitress was also the most attentive to her needs there.

Just found this thread (doing a search for reviews of Mama Melrose) and I recommend the Rose & Crown. They now have the BEST vegetarian entree I've ever had in the parks--a root vegetable pot pie that's out of this world. Not to mention a full bar and a very fun and festive atmosphere. :)
