Need OKW help!!!!

O.K. we had an August trip planned and now my husband gets a new job offer yesterday....so vacation plans are changing. We thought we might get down in the next few weeks-but a last minutute trip did not sound as much fun as planning for a summer trip.

We decided to change and go June 29-July 5!!! I know since we are going over the 4th-I probably will not get into BCV. (we changed because my husband gets 2 days of holiday this week and then he will not have to use a lot of vacation time)

My next choice is OKW and then SSR.

I love the looks of OKW for the palm trees and it seems to have a "Florida feel" .

I am going to call this morning. What building would you request to be the closest to the main pool??? (and an elevator if possible)

My dd 6 loves the zero entry and I know the OKW pool does not have this but does it have a nice shallow end to play in??? Are small children able to use the slide?

Then my next question...since my dd enjoys the zero entry pool and since we also have a toddler-should I just stay at SSR??

SSR looks very nice but the OKW theming is more my style!

Any advice is appreciated!!

We own at OKW and have nothing but good things to say about it. I would not switch one place over the other just because of the zero entry pool. OKW is very laid back. It is quite the opposite of BWV. Things go at a much slower pace. The pool is nice and there are smaller pools scattered throughout the resort. It is nice to be able to park your car right by your room and not have to walk a half mile. The rooms at OKW are the biggest among the DVC resorts at WDW. I don't think you will be disappointed. Hopefully you will stay there and come back here after your trip and give us a report! Have fun and enjoy your trip!

Well- I got the first 3 nights in a studio at BCV (over the weekend and less points) and then we are switching to four nights in a one bedroom at OKW!!!
I think we will really enjoy the room.

I think OKW will be a great way to end our vacation!!!

Any special things happen over the 4th of July holiday??

There are only 3 buildings at OKW that have elevators, 60, 61 & 62. All three are near the main pool.

Hi, We are also going at this time June 27th-July8th. You may want to check the FIREWORK times for the parks(the DIS has them listed),they are a little different on the 3rd and 4th of July. And I am TRYING to find out if MGM will have any FIREWORKS??(not Fantasmic) I made some ADRS tonite for the week of the 4th,I am sure it will be a BUSY week! Joan

Actually, the buildings with elevators are 62,63 and 64. They are located near Hospitality House and the main pool area.
