My daughter wants a Mulan birthday party and there is NOTHING out there. Any suggestions? I figured I could do chinese food and give out "goodie bags" in take-out boxes decorated with Mulan stickers. I would really be pulling this one out of my bum because there is no party stuff out there...not even on *gasp* eBay! Any suggestions would be welcome, especially for games to play. I'm surprised that there is nothing out there since Mulan is still somewhat popular.

I'm considering just taking all her friends to putt-putt and calling it a day. ;)

Pin the tail on Mushu???? I bet you could find a good image of him somewhere on line, print it, cut off the tail, and make copies? (That is the name of the Dragon, right?)

I think the goodie bags in take-out containers is a great idea.

Let me think some more.

Hi ! We did Mulan a couple of years ago.I bought alot fromOriental Trading. They had a section for Chinese New Years. The inventory there is great year round for different themes. We had a paper dragon , cheap blue and white rice bowl and tea sets ( put iced tea in it ),I bought hair combs and hot glued a flower on each one ,paper lanterns hanging, paper flowers.fortune cookies ,of course each girl had a paper fan.My sister had been to WDW and brought back the big umbrellas from China at EPCOT and I had them coming from the corners of the room. That you could probably call WDW merchandise for.I think when we went a few months ago they were about $ 10.00. They are very pretty and added alot of ambience.Try finding cheap sandles like Mulan wore to the Match Makers.I have seen them around the foot part looks like bamboo or straw.Speaking of umbrellas small ones for their drinks.Again check Oriental Trading.I hope this has started your imagination juices flowing:p When DD gets home I'll ask her what else we had.

Good Luck
Heidi

Get an eyeliner pencil and create the image of the beautiful almond shaped eyes on all the party guests!

All you do is draw a line with an upward stroke at the outside edge of the eye.

We do this when we dress up in our kimonos! :D

I think you've got the makings of a great party with just these few suggestions. Have FUN!

I also suggest Oriental Trading. I'm doing a Lilo and Stitch Luau for DD's 1st birthday and I absolutely LOVED this site.

I did a search for you, just putting Chinese in the Search box, and came up with lots of goodies. They also have fortune cookies, and the cutest Chinese dress invitations!

Good luck, I hope you have a great party!

When is her birthday? Somewhere around here I have a Mulan print program. I could try to find it and send it to you if you want to use it to print out anything.. We found it at Big Lots last year.

Mulan has to be one of the most difficult characters to find anything for! Last weekend I went to TDS and they had Kahn, her horse, marked down to $4.99. They had a few of them when I was there. Maybe your local store has some left and you can use the to decorate.

You can do some Chinese food tasting... or a make your own fortune ... or depending on the age, have the kids write fortunes out anonymously, and have the other guess who wrote it...

Ex... Jamie will have much love in the coming year...

Alice will gain much wisdom in Science class..

She who wears too much eye makeup looks like panda

You know what I mean..
