Okay it looks like I have two offers:

A 4 bdrm townhome with it's own little pool in Terra Verde for $517

or

A 3 bdrm condo, looks beautiful in the pictures, at Windsor Hills for $539.

What to do????

Hmm...I'm not as familiar with Terra Verde obviously. I did some quick looking at some sites on it though, it looks like a nice resort, but it's quite a bit further away than Windsor Hills is. More like 15-20 minutes to the parks...as opposed to 5 or so.

I think if it were me it would probably come down to which home looks nicer, has nicer amenities, decorating, etc. Both prices look great by the way..good job!

Of course I'm biased towards Windsor Hills, but I'm trying not to do that to you, I think it's a gorgeous resort, and the location is what it has going for it more than anything.

Both are wonderfully lovely resort style developments - you're probably going to be happy at either:)

That being said...
Does having the extra bedroom mean you won't have to use the pull-out sofa??

That would be the deal breaker for me..I would hate having to deal with that mess every morning...and the person sleeping on it can't go to bed when they want..all those privacy issues, and just simply more space!:goodvibes

And is it a condo at WH?
Elevator building..can't park right outside the door..and have to traipse however far to have a little dip in the pool.

BUT!;)

WH is that little bit closer to WDW...
Let us know what you pick!!

Okay, here's my requirements:

I only need 3 bedrooms. I have my parents (in their 60s), me, and my two kids (15 and 12). I wouldn't need the 4th bedroom at Terra Verde. Won't need to use a sleeper sofa.

However, the 3 bdrm is a condo, on the 4th floor (elevators).

I doubt very seriously that we will use the community pool or any of the amenities for that matter. We're not really "pool" people and we usually spend most of our time at the parks.

I will be at the resort VERY little (unless someone gets sick of course:scared: ) so I'm not all that concerned with the resort itself.

My priorities are:

1: Location
2: Swankiness (I have a high "princess" factor;)
3: Price (of course)

I won't get the pictures of the 4-bedroom until after 6:00 p.m. tonight. The 4 bdrm is a townhome vs. a condo and that's nice as far as hauling the luggage in.

Love it!
Think I'll have to use that one, too:teeth:

Location is your top pick, so WH would get my:thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 ...it's oh-so-very-close:)

Show us the pics too!:goodvibes

I too am looking for a place for myself my husband my girls 10&15 and my parents 60's. I am looking into Windsor hills because unlike you we will be at the pool a lot. Where did you get that good rate? Is that for 1 week?
When are you going? (I'm only going Feb2008 so I won't steal it from You);)
Also we went with floridasunshine.com last year
at Island club resort, Brittania2 it is a 3 bed room condo 2 king size beds 2 twin beds 3 bathrooms 4 tv's ect.($588 per week) It wasnt' very far from the parks. Let me know if you want more info on it.

Windsor Hills will be closer to the parks but you may have more room in the 4 bedroom townhome (then each of the kids can have their own room).

Does the townhome have more bathrooms, will that be useful?

The townhome sounds as though it has a splash pool - might be fun for the kids, but I am not sure how big or useful they are.

The townhome will be more convenient for loading and unloading groceries / bags etc. You may want think about is there is a bedroom on the ground floor - if your parents are not particularly mobile, stairs to bed may not be the best choice.

However if access to the parks is important I would go with Windsor Hills. It is closer.

It looks like I will probably go with the townhome. Should have it all wrapped up today. The pictures I received were nice (no nice than the condo though). In really looking at the condo, it appears very cramped. Not much room to walk around the beds, if any at all. The living room has a smaller sized sofa and one chair. So while it might sleep 6-8 people, it certainly doesn't have the seating for it around the TV (not that I will need it that much).

Also, the realty agent handling the condo has not been overly responsive. They sent me a one-line e-mail yesterday saying it was available. No phone number, no point of contact, nothing. I responded back to them asking how to book the property yet I still have received nothing.

In the meantime, the management company person for the townhome has been very responsive--despite sounding very busy. So I have a good feeling. The pictures she sent look nice and it seems roomy. I guess I will have something set up later this morning.

Don't be quick to disregard a 4 bedroom villa on the grounds that you only want 3 bedrooms. If you have your parents with you it would be better for them to have an ensuited double of their own. Our villa has 2 ensuited queen bed double rooms and 2 twin bedrooms with a 3rd bathroom next door. If I was coming with my 2 kids and my parents, I would def book a 4 bed villa for this reason alone. It quite often does not cost much more for a 4 bed and you have more space and your parents get their privacy.

You say you won't use the pool and I agree that I am not really mad about using community pools myself. However, villas with their own pools are nice because even if you aren't a big swimmer it is nice to step into the pool and cool off from time to time. Also nice to have a quick dip after a long hot day at parks when you know that all you have to do is step back into your own room rather than walk back to a condo 4 stories up.

I have no idea exactly where Windsor Hills community is but I know it is near Disney Parks, but I must object to you saying that Terra Verde it is 20 mins drive from Disney Gate. I can assure anyone reading this post that I have timed the drive to Disney from Terra Verde at 10 mins going via the Oceana Parkway.

Does anyone have any links to Terra Verde Properties??

Terra Verde is only a 10 minute ride from Disney. I feel sorry for those who leave Disney on 192 and have to sit in the traffic jamb going west toward Windsor Hills and the Rt. 27 area. Terra Verde has a site terraverdehoa
You can email me if I can answer any questions for you.
