Need Lots of Help! What is the cheapest way to have a Escape Wedding

Please tell me how I can make it possible. I have always dreamed of a Disney wedding and finally after 9 years and 2 kiddies he has asked me to be his wife but now comes the hard part. We need to make it small cause my babies are small my youngest one just turned 3 last week and things are hard but I would love to have my disney wedding. Can you please give me ideas on how I can make it happen?

Hiya, first of all congratulations!

I think the way to keep it as reasonable as possible is not to get caught up with the extras. I'm sure you already know what is included, but Disney provide a photographer for a couple of hours which saves a lot by not having an external vendor. Floral can be really expensive so if you stick to what is included (your bouquet and the grooms button hole) that will help. If you do need additional flowers then getting them yourself will save quite a bit.

The Wedding Pavillion is more expensive than the other venues so it would be better to look at them.

If you pick a time where you can have lunch after the ceremony that would save some on the dinner prices.

I don't know how many people you have going but if you wanted to have dinner rather than lunch Boma (or another buffet) is a set price so you would know the costs up front.

You get Annual Passes which will give you discounts on food, and you can also get the DDE for $60 (I think) that will give you discounts too.

There is 4 hours of limo included, and if you needed extra time it is done by the hour. It may be cheaper to hire town cars rather than extend the time of the limo depending on where you need to get to.

I think I'll kind of second what Beep has said.

The Escape Wedding package is probably going to be your best bet to keep costs low. Stick with the basic package elements and you should be okay.

When I had my wedding I pretty much did the Escape package "off the shelf". The only changes I made was buying an extra bottle of champagne, and pre-purchasing my proofs. And everything was beautiful!

Congratulations! You definitely can do a Disney Wedding fairly inexpensive. Just STAY away from the extras! Do an Escape wedding for 20 people (including the bride & groom) and you can still have a great wedding. I'm doing an Escape VR with my 2 daughters included and our grand total for the ceremony is $4164 (that includes flowers for my 2 girls and an upgraded wedding cake). We are having a Dinner Reception at Ohana's, approx. total $400, followed by an Illuminations Dessert Party with grooms cake for $1273.
Things not included in the Escape Package, Officiant charge of $200 plus the grooms tux, our cost $140. So for a little over $6000 you can definitely do a really nice Escape Wedding. Just SAY no to lots of extras!! Hope that helps!

Aww congrats!!!!!!Stick to what everybody else said!!!!! The only extras i paid for was extra floral and my outside vendors so my wedding was close to 6K! Good luck and let us know what you decide

I'm not sure where you are based, when you plan to marry or what you plan to wear but it is worth keeping an eye on the bridal shop sales or internet sites. I am in the UK and was originally going to buy my dress over the internet from the US but with customs and excise and everything else it wasn't worth it for me.

The bridal shops seem to have sales at different times to each other so you can have the pick of the bunch most of the time. If you go for a full price dress you can usually haggle over the 'extras' - I got free storage, a free tiara and reduced priced alterations so it is well worth it.

Have a look on ebay for things like invitations, save the date cards etc. There are a lot of talented people out there making invitations and if you want to keep it small it wouldn't be worth while looking at a lot of the custom sites as they have a minimum order a lot of the time.

I am using an ebay seller that makes beautiful invitations and they work out at around £1.20/$2.40 each and as I only need 10 (including 2 for the scrapbooks!) it works out really good.

I wouldn't do welcome bags for people as (by all accounts) not many people use them. Same with wedding favours - the fact that people are invited should be gift enough!

Oh, something else. Once you have the details sorted out and booked you can open a Disney Honeymoon Registry where people can buy (or contribute) to Disney treats. The money actually gets put together and credited to a gift card that you can then use for anything - it makes people feel like they are buying you something specific rather than giving money - and some brides have virtually paid for their disney honeymoon with it! If you chose that you could then pay for your accommodation (minimum of 4 nights needed with an Escape) or put the money towards it.

All I can say is thank you all for your great ideas... I have heard so much different things. I also heard that it is cheaper at the Swan/Dolphin but has anyone on here had a wedding there? I am not sure of what to do I can keep it at 20 but I would not be able to ask my sister from NC to come down and I feel bad. I am hoping that because it is out of town some family members may not be able to make it. I am just feeling bad that is the problem with Big families cause I can do it with pretty much my immediate but what about my Fiance?

I want an escape wedding as well. I plan on not upgrading flowers, cake etc, but i was thinking of upgrading the photo package. Any ideas on how much extra that could run.

I really plan on doing bare bones Escape but I'm on the fence about the pics, I would love some really nice ones.

We used Disney photography and upgraded our photo package to an Ariel Collection which includes a 40 photo 5x7 album. This was around $350 to upgrade I believe. We also did the Epcot photoshoot that was about $575. The Epcot photos ended up being our favorite so they were definitely worth it to us!! There are so many decisions... good luck!!

If you go with an outside photographer (I recommend) you'll get more bang for your buck. I'm an escape and I just added Misty for under <$1K. She has 2 packages in this range $750-$950. I'm sure some are similar. Or, upgrade to the MK bridal photo shoot. that's what we're going to do (months after our wedding, but none-the-less).
