Hello, I was hoping someone could give me some advice on how to handle transportation for our trip in April:

STEP 1 (to Florida/BLT): We fly into Orlando the night before the cruise. The plan is to stay at BLT for the night.

current plan: We plan on taking Disney Magical Express from the airport to the hotel.

STEP 2 (to DCL/Port Canaveral): We'll be heading out in the morning to Port Canaveral.

current plan: We plan on taking the Disney/Mears bus. I think it is $35 a person 1-way. It isn't cheap, but it seems very convenient.

STEP 3: (to Universal): This is the big question mark.

current plan: :confused3 We don't have a plan. We are stranded, lol. :confused3

STEP 4 (back to airport): Yet another question mark.

current plan: Once again, we don't have a plan. I figure we can take a taxi or hire a Towncar. I think the Towncar would be relatively cheap from Universal.

If this is just a day trip, I say taxi. But where will your luggage go? If you're staying the night, maybe there's a shuttle service (at least to the airport.)

When we went in December, it was actually cheaper to rent a limo then use the Disney Transportation, but there were 7 of us traveling.

I know that if you ever use Mousesavers they have some discounts for Happy Limo (which we used), and many of the rental car companies. I would suggest looking at the mousesavers.com website to see what discounts they offer.

We do this all the time, but we rent a car at MCO when we arrive and return it when we are ready to fly home. Even though DME is free, all the other transportation really adds up.
