Need Local Advice !

I am coming down to Universal on the 7th of July, and we are going to Cocoa to see the shuttle launch on Friday morning. I need some real, non- hysterical information on the traffic. We need to meet a kayak tour at 9:30 a.m., and I would like some advice on the estimated time it will take to get there from I-Drive and Universal. (Next to the Wet & Wild) Any help is greatly appreciated!

Expect the launch to draw hundreds of thousands of people to the Cape Canaveral area. The usual hour-ish drive between there and the Orlando-area parks will almost certainly balloon to two-three hours at least, depending on when you attempt the drive.

Two to three hours might be mild...they are expecting HUGE crowds on launch day...provided it actually takes off when scheduled.
