Need some help in deciding what to request for room location for our trip at the end of Sept. We're staying in a 2 br, savannah view in Kidani Village and it's our first trip there (we've stayed in Jambo but not Kidani). While I normally don't make room requests, this trip has turned out to be a little different. DH will be 5 months off of knee repacement surgery but he's back to normal so no issue (according to him), however I found out some not so good news last week and turns out I will be having hysterectomy in 3 weeks which will put our Disney trip at week 4 of recovery. My dr. said that I should be able to go but to be prepared for heavy fatigue. We'll be traveling with our adult daughter and her friend and while they will be in full tilt, park comando mode, while DH and I have a much more laid back style ;). I do think it would be good though to maybe request a room near transportation but I don't want to compromise the view. A good view is probably top of the list followed by being close to transportation or lobby (doesn't that sound familiar? :) ).

For those of you who have stayed there, what would you suggest? Is there a specific room or section that you think might be better? I realize it's only a request and we'll be fine with whatever room we get. I just want to conserve as much energy as possible so I can enjoy the time with family! I'll most likely be coming home to a round of radiation and/or chemo so I want to savor this trip!! TIA

Question. Will you drive or use busses?

If you are driving- request close to elevator. You can park near the elevator in the garage below the building and be close to your car/room.

If you are relying on the Disney bus iI would request 1) close to Transportation 2) close to community hall

Community hall is right by the side hallway/exit to the bus stop, this route may help.

We'll have a car but I think we'll mostly use the busses. Thanks for the suggestions!

If you don't plan on using your car much, then I would request Sunset Savannah near the lobby. That should be the shortest walking for you to get to the bus and Sunset Savannah has great views.

Depending on your viewing, animals are usually not in the savannah until late morning (11ish) as they are getting checked, etc.

We love Kidani, hope you have a great trip.

Be sure you emphasize "near lobby". On my last visit, I was WAY out there! I counted the number of steps to the lobby, and then when I got to BCV (split stay), I counted the same # of steps. The same # of steps as at Kidani got my INSIDE Epcot IG from my studio!

Thanks everyone! I am going to call and put in a request today. If we aren't able to get it though it won't spoil our fun! I will just plan on taking it slow and easy....:thumbsup2

Consider renting a wheelchair to help with the fatigue. My prayers are with you for successful surgery:grouphug:

Make sure that you have them note that your room request of close to the lobby is for medical reasons. That does add a little oomph to the request.

OP, you may want to change your request as suggested above to add that it is for medical reasons. You also may want to change your request from close to lobby to either close to community hall or close to the Timon elevator. Close to lobby, even if granted, could put you on the north wing while the bus station is on the south wing. Close to community hall would also put you close to lobby but on the south wing close the exit door that is closest to the bus stop; likewise close to Timon elevator, which would have to combined effect of putting you closest to where you are likely to park.
