need Ipod nano help!!!

Help! My Ipod won't turn off. It's still playing music, it just won't turn off. It is not on hold and I have tried everything that the instructions said to do. Also, when I plugged it into my computer, nothing happened, there was no response. What should I do??????

To turn off the iPod, you have to hold down the play/pause button at the bottom of the click wheel for about 10 seconds. It should then shut down and you should "lock" it with the little slider switch on the top (there is probably a technical term for this but I don't know it!!).

After you turn it off successfully, shut down iTunes, try connecting the device again.

I'd hit the pause button and hold the play button down.

thats the problem, it won't shut off when I hold down the play/pause button. I'm so confused!!!!!

My mini wouldn't do anything last week but play. I had to reset it. For the mini I got the instructions off of Apples website. I believe it was slide the hold switch to hold for about 5 seconds, then back. Then hold the middle button and the menu button at the same time until the apple appears on the screen.

THis is a really common problem with all ipods, it took DH and I awhile to figure it out. Guess they should put those directions right in with the ipod!
