I know this is a weird place to ask, but it really is Disney related, and Im on a budget, and I know you all are wonderful with this type of thing!

My son was selected to go to state for special olympics gymnastics in two weeks - its 450 miles away...at Disney's wide world of sports. Yeah :)

They gave us the routine on a DVD for him to watch and see what it ideally should look like, and I want to put it on his ipod touch so he can watch it on our long journey. I can't figure out how to get it on there, so if nothing else I can take a video of it.

That leads me to my problem. My son loves to take videos on the ipod, and I can't figure out how to move his videos and pictures to the computer and back again. He will be upset if I just delete them, and its almost full! Am I missing something really easy??

We use a program called DVDFab to pull video off DVD's. The software has a suite of tools. One of the tools can convert the video to any portable device format including of course an iPod.

In general you will need a software program to get the Video off the DVD and then convert it to the iPod format

Thank you, I had a feeling that might be the case.

Do you know if you can transfer your homemade videos from the ipod to the computer and back again? I can get them from the ipod to the computer, but not sure how to get them back onto the ipod.

You would use iTunes to transfer the video back to your iPod. Let me know if you have any other questions.

I use Handbrake to convert videos. They have presets for video size for iPod, iPhone, iPad, apple tv etc. The site is http://www.handbrake.fr . It is a free software, and it is very good. Transferring videos back and forth is easiest with iTunes, unless you buy an alternative software that will essentially make your computer treat your device as an attached storage device.

Thanks, I ended up taking a video with the ipod of the clips playing on my computer, it really worked very well.

I'm still not clear on how to transfer the videos from the ipod to the computer and back again. The ipod is always full and he ends up deleting his videos.

First sync the ipod so you have a backup in case something goes wrong. Look in iTunes for the checkboxes under the video heading. Look for sync all videos vs select checked videos then check the ones you want on the ipod. The rest will stay on the computer
