I want to explore options for renting points in a 3 bedroom for either july 1-8 or July 3-8, and don't know what my options would be as far as resorts, or the number of points I need. Is this something I can research on my own, or does a member need to check?

You can see point requirements by clicking the link at the top of this page "DVC Point Charts." In order to find out about availability of rooms, you would need to have a member do that. Post on the rent/trade board to locate a member who wuld rent you points and check availability.

A "3-bedroom" is a Grand Villa. These are available at OKW, BWV and SSR. BCV and VWL do not offer Grand Villas.

A GV is probably not available for Fourth of July at this date. It's already past the 7 month period where any DVC member can use their points at any resort. I think you missed the boat for 2006. Maybe you can do this for 2007. Just get with a member by July of this year for July of next year.
