My dd would like to wake Tinkerbell when we are in WDW. However, I do not want to subject my children, or myself, to the smack-down that I hear it has become in the race to get there first and to be the first. Has anyone had any luck in waking Tinkerbell later in the morning or afternoon? My dd has her heart set on this and I am fairly sure we will not be the first ones there. I have read posts where others have gotten there later in the morning and have asked if they could wake tinkerbell and have had success - this is more my speed. Any help or experience with this appreciated!

We've been lucky waking up Tinkerbelle but we were always the first ones in the morning. This trip we were a few minutes later than normal and someone else had already woken her up and that was that. I've heard people asking later in the day and the answer was always no. The do have a bureau with a keyhole in it where you can sometimes see Tink but if your dd wants to wake her up I'd say get there as soon as it opens. Now I've never seen the trampling stampede that others have talked about. We just walked quickly, but didn't run and we've had mostly good luck.

We asked on our last trip later in the day and were told no too. The CM directed us to the keyhole also to see her.

I have never heard of this eitehr. What is this? What do you do? And where is the keyhole. I just don't get it?:confused3

I have to say that I was terrified of the thought, having read the antics of some, but in 12/05, we had breakfast at the castle and were already done and downstairs a few minutes before rope drop. I told my boys that we were going to WALK to Tink's Treasures. I told them that, even if 100 people went running for the store, we would walk. Rope dropped, we walked to Tink's Treasures. No one else even around. In we go. "Has anyone woken up Tink yet?" No sirs, would you like to? "Sure!!"

And so it went. Another family came in and asked about 5 minutes after we had already finished. They loved it and I'm so glad it was a good experience for them.

So where is Tink's Treasures? I'm guessing Fantasyland?

Nevermind. I just found it in the Unofficial Guide. ;)

OK, Tinkerbell's Treasures in in Fantasyland. When you are standing at the back of the castle, looking towards the carousel, it's just there on the left. It is a store, but the first children of the morning to go in and ask to wake her up, get to. I'm not going to tell the details, but it's fun. It only takes a couple of minutes, but they will wake her up and the rest of the day, kids can see her flying around the store, including through the drawer. They can look into the keyhole and they'll see her light as she passes through. There are stories about parents shoving other children out of the way while running to the store and such, just so their children can be the ones to wake her. Very unmagical. I've also heard that if two families enter and ask at the same time, all the children will be allowed to do it, but I don't know how often that happens. When you enter the store, you need to ask the first CM you see, if the children can wake up Tink. It's just another little thing that can mean so much, especially if you have Tink lovers, or if Tinkerbell is playing a very large role in your entire vacation, like she did ours, back in 12/05.

Don't know about later in the day, but you may as well go for it first thing in the morning. We did, and another family was LITERALLY just STEPS in front of us after the rope drop--I almost tripped over the mom as she paused with her stroller while her girls ran inside--and the CM let her daughters as well as my daughter and the little girl behind us all wake up Tink together, since we all spilled into the store literally within seconds of each other. Technically the family in front of me was first, but hey, had I just barrelled over the mom when she paused with her stroller, I would have been first, ha ha. Anyway, I thought that was super nice of the CM and it made my DD's day, as she was just crushed that she wasn't "first". But when she got to wake Tink anyway, she was overjoyed. So, give it a shot, you may stumble into a situation like ours.

You can still see her fly through the store. My daughter always stops in and looks in the keyhole. If Tink doesn't appear to be flying about (look for the lights on the ceiling and listen for the chimes that follow her around the store), just have your daughter knock on the chest/dresser where Tink stays when she's in the store. Usually, a CM will notice and there must be a special button somewhere that sends Tink flying through the store and landing in the dresser. A bright light goes off in the keyhole with a pretty little chime heard throughout the store. It's still very magical even if you aren't the first one there in the morning.

We woke her our last trip....we had an early ADR and were at the castle for the interior rope drop. We walked directly to the shop and were the first ones in...no one asked to wake her up the entire time we were there, so this may still be an undiscovered magic moment some days.

My kids got to wake her together in September 2005. We had an early ADR at Crystal Palace, and were at the castle for the interior rope drop. We just walked right over and had no problems with pushy people. Good Luck!

To the OP, I'm just like you. I can't stand the aggressiveness and the uglyness of what people do to wake up Tink. I took my kids in the afternoon and we saw her in the peephole.

We were always at MK at opening on my week after Thanksgiving trip. I wasn't heading to Tink's shop, but we could have, I would love it, but like I said above, I just don't want to be in that race!

There were only about ten people at the rope to Fantasyland, I wasn't heading towards Tink's and I was still shoved by two families who arrived at the shop at the same time. The rest of the people at the rope couldn't believe what these women did.

I got shoved, and I had two little ones with me, and another mom got shoved who had two little ones with her. She asked me why those women just pushed us like that and what should she do. I explained about Tink's shop and she was really upset and wanted to report them. I just told the woman to enjoy the day, forget about people like that.

It is sad, and it is a shame that they reward the most aggressive people.

Phew, I feel better for saying my feelings on this.

Heres my DD waking up Tink! You get a special certificate too, which is very neat. My DD 4 loved this, and to us it was worth geting an early ADR then getting to the rope drop. I have never heard of a Cm letting you do this after the first thing each morning, as they beleive in it all so badly, and you cant wake tink up if shes not asleep. But guess its worth a try. Good luck.

PS it might help my DD had a wendy darling dress on, and we spoke to the CM at the rope drop, so she radioed ahead to say we were coming. We walked all the way.

This sounds like a lot of fun. What are the chances of waking up tink if you do not have ADR's in Magic Kingdom but are present at rope drop. Any hope???

By the way, can you meet tinkerbell anywhere in disneyworld. She is so popular, but keeps a low profile.:flower3:

Well if you come in later, you technically don't wake her up, but you can see her fly through the store and land in her dresser, keyhole. For everyone who can't be the first one in the store in the morning, it's still magical. When you go into the store, just knock on Tink's dresser and maybe your little girl can ask if she's home... Usually, a CM will then send Tink flying through the store and you will see her flash in the keyhole. It's pretty wonderful!

Okay, my kids not me ran from the front of the park to the shop 2 years ago. We got to the gates at 7:00AM since my youngest DD HAD to do this. She only talked of this for weeks before our trip after I read it to her on the boards here. Well, at about 7:30 a lady came and pushed her way to the front of the line with her DDabout16 and DD4. When the ropes dropped at 8:00, my DD's started for Tink's. The DD16 started running and then, so did mine. I was not happy but, I understood why. DD16 ran to the shop without stopping....cross country???? I was thinking, where is the oxygen mask? HELP ME!!! She beat my DD's and asked to wake up Tink. My DD's got there not even about 1 minute later. The DD16 was waiting for her sister to do it and holding her place. The CM let all 3 girls mine and the DD4 do it. I went back about 1/2 later and thanked the CM without the other mom there since the other mom was really mad. I told the CM I thought it was a great compromise and made everyone happy. I was fine with it as were my DD's and thought it was a good idea. I thought it was the only fair way to do it. I was not happy with the running down Main Street mine did and told them so. However, that was the biggest deal of the trip and the one thing my little DD wanted so, I did not lay into them too much. We have done it once and now let others enjoy the pleasure. Hope you all have a TINKERBELL magical day!! :tinker: :tinker:
