Hi everyone! I was wondering if anyone can help me. I did something kind of stupid. At least I think it was. My DH and I am going to Disney in Aug and then again with our family next June. I bought 2 day base tkts for Aug through Disney website and they are being mailed to me. I got to thinking that maybe I should have bought AP's for us instead. If I should have, I was wondering if I could trade these 2 base tks. in for AP when we get to the resort, or maybe I can call Disney direct. As I said I bought these over the internet so they may have already processed and gotten out in the mail. Does anyone know anything about this that might help my dilema. I am a DVC owner so I know there is a discount on AP. Does anyone know what it is - for some reason $100.00 off sticks in my head.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

You are correct on the discount. I believe you will be able to upgrade the passes you bought for anything of greater value. One other consideration- you don't mention the length of your trips,- is the 10 day no expiration. If your trips would be two days and then four days next June, you would still have four days to use. I do it because we don't get there enough to justify the annual pass and renewal, but using the no-expiration option gets us locked in at today's price.

My DH and I will be there in Aug for 3 days and then again in June for 10 days with DS 7 and DS 3, however I have only purchased a 2 day base ticket for the Aug trip with just DH and have not purchased anything for the 10 day trip in June. I thought if I could I would just turn in my 2 day base tkts at the check in counter at SSR and purchase the AP for me and my DH and then when the time comes get the Magic your way 10 day for the kids. Is that the way I should go and can I accomplish all this at SSR?

Your plan, as far as getting APs by turning in your base tickets sounds good. Except they can not do this at the resort ticket counter. All APs are processed at Guest Services/Relations windows outside any of parks or in Downtown Disney. You'll need to go to one of these places to upgrade and purchase APs. The resorts do not handle APs at all.

Also be sure to have your blue membership card with you. Both you and your DH have to be there and show your photo ID ( license) and membership card to purchase the APs with discount.

The normal AP is $415. You get a $100 DVC discount, so your tickets will be $315 each, plus 6.5% tax for a total of $335.48 each.

Thanks for all the info everyone -that's why I like the dis board so well - everyone is sooo helpful and you need not go anywhere else. We're staying at SSR so DTD is just a little walk away. We'll get our AP's first thing!
