Anyone have any info or tips for the WDWSwan?

I got a fantastic rate through DreamRes (the DISboards main page reservations link at the very top of the page) for the Disney Swan over Halloween Weekend. Normally the standard rooms run over $340 per night. Because we were annual passholders, we got a $169 rate with a free room upgrade to a lake view room and a late 2 pm checkout. Disney Deluxe Resorts couldn't even touch this rate and we get all the Disney amenities too, plus some !!!

My family is SOOOOOO excited.
:jumping1: :maleficen :jumping1:

We would have never been able to afford this otherwise.

THANKS DREAMRES :love2:  Now, before I go anywhere, I'm checking Dream Res first !!

My only tip is enjoy every minute!!! The pool complex is wonderful....the beds are heavenly and the location can't be beat.

Thanks for the link. I just showed my 5 yr old DS the hotel online and he is so excited you'd swear I just fed him a pound of pure sugar. We may have a hard time getting him to go to the parks !

And, yes, we plan on enjoying every minute of it !! Mom is even getting a trip to the Spa.

I'm so glad I saw this! My family and I want to go in February and we were looking for a great rate at a deluxe, and $262.00 a night (with my annual pass) was the best I could find for the Beach Club/Yacht Club, and Boardwalk (we like the Epcot resorts the best) but with this Swan offer, it's perfect - and I couldn't find anything even close to it!

My only problem was that when I go to select my dates, they come up and everythings fine, the total at the top and everything is right, but the thing that is wrong is the "Overall total" at the bottom - it's WAYYY off. Like, it's double/tripple sometimes what I really should be paying - are they having a problem with that website?

Is it just me?

also, how did you get the better view to come up?

oh, and have a GREAT time :earsboy:

We've stayed at the Swan many, many times because of the great rates and great location. The beds are heavenly! They are fabulously comfortable. Bus service is great. The pools are very nice and there is a nice beach for the little ones to play in the sand. You can easily walk to EPCOT and even the Studios. There are also boats (the walkway and the boats go to the International Gateway which means no transportation to the front of the park). I had a massage at the Spa last year and it was lovely. Try the Dolphin for quick eats (Tubby's is a favorite of my kids as is the ice cream shop). The lobby of the Swan is quite small which I find convenient after a day in the parks since there isn't a ton of walking to do to get to the elevators and rooms (unlike say Boardwalk). The Boardwalk is within walking distance too. Rooms are nicely decorated. There isn't any Disney theme within the resort (except for a small gift shop in the lobby), but sometimes it's nice to have a relaxing spot to retreat to. The tv does run those Disney channel stuff with the annoying girl telling us what to do, so you do feel you're part of the World. The hotel is part of the Westin chain and the Westins are truely deluxe. All in all, a very nice choice of a hotel. Laundry facilities are in the Dolphin. The character meal at the Swan isn't top-rate. Have a great time. For the money, this is a fantastic hotel.

I just know your family will have a wonderful time. We have stayed at Swan and Dolphin many many times over the past five years and have yet to be disappointed. I LOVE THE SWAN and the GROTTO!!!!

This past September we stayed at the Poly with a view of the castle and I missed the Epcot Resort Area so much. My DD and DH did as well. We return to the Swan on Thursday and can hardly wait.

Have a great trip!!!

You will love the Swan. We will be there for our third trip nov/dec. The pool and beach area is great. Ask for the turndown service. You'll get some little chocolates on your bed at night. If you haven't signed up to be a Starwood member, do so now. My 3 ds like tubbis for a snack. They also like the Boardwalk Bakery too. Enjoy your trip.
