We are scheduled to fly to Anaheim on Saturday Nov 1 for a long awaited visit to Disneyland. My mother who has mild to moderate respiratory problems will be with us.

We are considering cancelling our trip because of the poor air quality in the Anaheim area. Eventhough it will cost us about $300 to cancel we fiqure that would be the better alternative if we will not be able to enjoy going to the parks because of smokey air.

The EPA air quality report from Tuesday seems to indicate that there are health concerns for individuals with respiratory problems. While I plan to monitor that report up until Friday, I would like to get some information from locals regarding the quality of the air as well.

The weather channel is predicting that conditions should improve in the next few days. If someone that lives near Anaheim could monitor the situation and give me updates on the air quality until Friday, I would really appreciate it. We will probably not make a final decision on whether to go on our trip until Friday afternoon.

Thanks

I live about 5 minutes from DL and it was bad Sun-Tues. Today was much better and should continue to improve the rest of the week. It should be fine by the weekend. I will give you an update tomorrow.

We just got back.

My mother has emphysema (not on oxygen though) and she would have had a tough time (to say the least) if she had been with us.

Today was definitely better in terms of smoke and ash, but the fires are far from over. The Santa Ana winds make the whole situation quite unpredictable.
