Just wondering...

Have you received your closing papers yet and what is your closing date?

I'm a little concerned, as one person had posted that they closed the same week I did and rec'd their papers last Friday. I also remember someone have an est. closing of 10/8, mine is 10/23???

We aren't using any sort of finance company, which would speed things up, one would think. Also, I think they misplaced that first set of papers that needed to be returned for a few days---someone asked me for them, but I had already faxed them in like 5 days earlier, then was told they had them. Don't know if that would matter or not.

Like the rest of you---would like to make some spring ressies before the 7 month window opens up.

TIA!!!

PS. Do you know who your closing person is?

about 10 days after you did (9/23). I called Timeshare Closing services today to see where we stood as last time we spoke they were waiting for the estoppel and title search. They now have those and said the closing packet would be emailed to me on Tuesday (10/5). Then, of course we sign, send the certified funds, and wait for the seller to get their stuff notarized and sent back...so it will be a couple weeks till we actually close. That's how I understand it anyway.

Have you called TCS? They probably gave you a file number when the Open Escrow document was sent to you for you to sign and fax back. You can call them and they will look up your file....probably even if you don't have that number they can look you up and tell you where everything stands. It doesn't have to be the same person there every time you call...they can all access your stuff.

Good luck!

:earsgirl: We heard from ROFR on Friday September 17th. We are going through timeshare closing services. Our closing documents were emailed to me on Wednesday September 29th. They had told me that it would take a few weeks to receive the closing documents so their estimate was correct. I just sent everything off today. I hope the previous owner signs his papers quickly. We are supposed to be closing on 10/13( I was told it may happen sooner if the documents are received in a timely fashion(hope that's true!!!!! Can't wait to plan a trip.

I am also using TSS/TCS for our resale purchase. I'm still waiting on ROFR.
I was just wondering if you all payed the extra $45 for "priority" service?

The hold up could easily be on the seller side. My last resale closing was delayed since the seller did not get their paperwork back in time.

Pete...we are not using the expedited service. Based on some posts on this board, it just didn't seem worth even $45. It's not like they can 'guarantee' a specific timeframe.

Thanks guys! You'll never guess----we got our closing packet late this afternoon. Won't be able to get the certified check until Monday, and will overnight it then. At least Monday isn't Columbus Day! :) Hope the sellers are equally motivated to sign quckly too.

Thanks for all your information. Maybe since ROFR passed so quckly, closing has seemed slower in comparison. It would be nice if there were a checklist provided, but then again, it's all a new process to me, maybe old hat to others.

Can't wait until it's all done and we are in the system!!!

Pixie closing dust to the rest of you---
