Need inexpensive hotel walking distance from City Walk

I was unable to book the Hard Rock Hotel at the APH rates for my parents , can anyone recommend a decent and inexpensive hotel in walking distance of City Walk?

I thought about trying for a different Universal on-site hotel, but my kids have their heart set on The Hard Rock and since they will have to change hotels, thought it would be best to save some money since they weren't getting the convenience. Thanks!

There are no hotels within walking distance of City Walk, except if you are ready for a long walk over I-4 east to International Drive.

A hotel that gets passing reviews is the Rosen Inn closest to Universal. It is located at 6327 International Drive, about a mile and a half from City Walk. It costs less than $60 a night and has reviews that are spotty but average around 3.5 out of 5.0.

Check hotels on major blvd, the holiday Inn and the double tree Universal.

It is a bit if a walk, plus crossing a 4 lane highway.

You know if you stay on site you have access to all three hotels. resturaunts
pools etc. you can vist the hard rock, explore all the rock items they have on displayed, hang out at the pool, eat.

There are several hotels on Major Blvd/Caravan Ct. They are basically across the street behind Portofino Bay hotel. It will take you about 10 minutes to walk to the parking garage/entry to Citywalk. Like stated above, you do have to cross a busy 4 lane street--Kirkman Rd. There is a stop light and a cross walk but you need to be careful.
