Hey guys. I want to make something special for my fiance and my 1 year anni that is coming up in Nov. I was thinking of making a book of love quotes but I'm not sure how to lay it out or go about doing it. Any hints, tips, or ideas are welcome. I know you are all creative so please help me. Thanks!!!!

I am actually making an exploding box for my cousins wedding. I will try and post some pics tonight. Hopefully I will be done with it, as the wedding is the weekend and we are leaving tomorrow!

I did a courtship album for DH for Valentines - not TOO late considering we've been married 17 years:rotfl2:

CM do a nice pack of love quotes on vellum, which I found useful

It is really not hard. All I use are three pieces of paper, a cutting blade and a scoring blade. The whole process takes about 30 minutes, now the decorating that is a whole 'nother story. If you need help, post here or PM me. I will be glad to give suggestions. I just gave an exploding box to my fiancé yesterday for our 6 year anniversary. I compiled pics of us through the years. Most of that time was spent getting and sizing all the photos.

yep, Raen is right, they are really simple to make. It's just scoring or folding and cutting. I make one for another DISer in less that an hour with interruptions. The only part that I had trouble with was the lid but eventually got it.

My LSS actually has a Exploding box kit where everything is already scored (I think it is actually by 7 gypsies or some other manufacturer). The kit is a bit different as it also comes with tag inserts and uses the sides (rather than cutting away). I think the exploding box would be perfect. Then you could put pics on you guys on the outside too and leave on a bookshelf or something.

For our tenth anniversary I made my husband a small 6x6 album. On one side I put a picture and the other I had lyrics to one of our favorite songs. I made a pocket in the front that held a cd of all the songs from the book. Yes, it made him cry!

The exploding box is very easy once you get the hang of it. They also sell Brazill mini albums that you can decorate. I made a gift one for my mom once that came out cute. Good luck with whatever you decide!

The matchbooks from Basic Grey are nice too - they come in lots of their ranges, so you acn find something "manly" ;) We did one of these for DH for Fathers Day, and I made another for my aunt for her 75th

Here are pics of my last two boxes (also my first two ever if that matters). The colorful one with photos is the one I gave my fiancé and the white and burgundy (wedding colors) is my cousin's wedding gift.

My Ex did a book for me a few years ago in a dr suess i love you them. I love you in the sun, I love you having fun, etc. each page had a pic of me or us and he dressed each saying up w/ something relevant. It was one of the best presents I ever received. He did it in an 8 x 8 format and it was just perfect.
