DD is 11, and we haven't really done "party favors"for a few years at her bday parties, but we're doing an "A Minute to Win It" gameshow themed party, so I'm thinking I should have something on hand for little "prizes" for my little "contestants."

Does anyone have any ideas? I know her class is really into the Japanese puzzle erasers right now, so I'll pick up some of the bigger packs and split them up (about 10 girls coming). I'm thinking chapstick/lipgloss or something like that, but what else? Should I just go w/candy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

We did some games for prizes at DD's last couple of birthdays (9 and 10). Tried to stick to $1 or less per prize. Some we used were:

fuzzy slipper socks
knee socks
hand gel
bath gel
nail polish
lotion
chapstick
"soft" headbands
pens
pencils
mini notepads
word search/sudoku books
mini puzzles
small crafts
key chains
tic-tacs

We did most of our shopping at Michaels and AC Moore. Also picked up some stuff on sale at Justice, and also Bath & Body works and Target. Did a few multi-packs that were broken down into smaller prizes.

We individually wrapped each prize in whatever we had laying around (scraps of wrapping paper or tissue that you keep but doesn't fit a gift). The girls collected their prizes throughout the games, but everyone opened them up at the same time after the games were over. We've done this for a couple of years and the girls love it

Have a great time!
Happy birthday to your daughter!

mom2travel, thanks so much for those ideas! You definitely gave me something to go with!!

Zoemurr, are you familiar with the show at all? It's on nbc, and you can find info on it and ALL the different games in its rotation through the MTWI page on www.nbc.com. DD and I just went through the big list and picked her top 10 games. Most games don't require too much in terms of preparation and buying stuff. DD picked Face the Cookie, Egg Roll, Elephant March, Whipper Snapper, What a Racquet, Junk In the Trunk, Movin' On Up, Nose Dive, Separation Anxiety, and Stick the Landing. On the website every one of their games has a short video showing how to play the game (just like they show on the tv show) and other info on how to set up each game. I plan on showing those right before each event, and I bookmarked some 60-second timers off of Youtube I might not be awarding prizes at the end of every round. I'm thinking of requiring a certain percentage must complete the task in order for the group to win a certain prize... or maybe just giving them the loot at the end. BTW There is a really great video of a boy's bday party on Youtube where they had a MTWI theme and they looked like they all had an awesome time. Just search for "Minute to Win It birthday party" on Youtube and it should come up. We went w/this theme because it's easy to tailor and add to/cut down depending on if we're running late.

Lush has great stuff that young girls would love you could pick 1 scent of soap and have them cut it into small slices ditto for their lotion bars and they sell smaller bath bombs in the stores. You could get them to wrap the stuff up for you and just put it in the bags. My niece loves all there stuff.

another thing you could do is print your own labels to go with your theme for chapsticks, little water bottles, chocolate bars and so on.

I watch the show and I always thought those games would be perfect party games. Great minds think alike, I see. ;)

lush.com its a cosmetic type store like bath body but a little more fun I think. I don't tend to go for the lotions and such but I love there bath bombs and other stuff.

I think we're doing a MTWI party for my 9 year old DD, too! Of course, she's never seen it, I just think they would love it so I need to show it to her and then talk her into it. :) I'd definitely want to do the shake your booty one with the tissue box and ping pong balls on your butt!! :rotfl:

Dollar Tree had packs of those rubber band animal and other shaped bracelets. You can pull them and they always bounce back to that shape. My DD11 likes them

never mind, just saw the whole other thread on these, lol

sillybandz that's what they're called
