Need Ideas For My Main Bathroom

OK DIS'ers, I need some ideas/suggestions for my main bathroom. The bathroom has no window and right now has a dark green wallpaper, and it is just too dark and dreary. I want something light and airy, but just don't have any good ideas right now. I wanted to do it Disney, but DH is not up for that. I thought of sunflowers, but not sure if that is very "bathroomy."
So....tell me what you have in your bathroom or give me some suggestions...I am tired of having a dark, dreary bathroom!

I'm probably not the right one to ask, bacause I've been thinking of redoing my bathroom for about 4 years now, and still haven't come up with a theme.

I don't see anything wrong with sunflowers if that's what you want to do. Who says you have to do a "standard" bathroom anyway? I'm sure you could find some great sunflower accessories. Maybe paint the walls blue.

I think Sunflowers would work and you could probably get away with the same wallpaper.

One of my SIL's did her kitchen with Sunflowers and there are lots of things once you look. It would brighten it up also

You could put a faux window in and have a sunflower "view" out of the window if you don't want a real heavy sunflower theme. That would take some of the dreary out of it. Good luck with your bathroom. Ours looks like an Austin Powers nightmare....

I love sunflowers and think they are fine for a bathroom.

My 1/2 bath is done in Angels. the fixtures are gold and that is what brightens the room since the walls are a light brown.

My hall bathroom isn't very big & it doesn't have a window either. I just re-did it this summer. We have a brightly colored fish shower curtain. It has purples, blues, yellows, pinks & teals among other colors. I painted the walls a deep teal color and then sponged a lighter teal over the top of it & it looks great. Just like being in the sea! It makes the room seem larger even though we used a darker color. My bedroom bath is smaller than the hall bath & has a small window & I painted those walls grey & sponged pink over the grey. It came out really pretty also. I was tired of wallpaper & just wanted to paint instead.

If you don't want to invest a lot of money, try a faux finish. I could tell you how to do a few different EASY styles if you like. You could do a soft yellow or yellow-gold painting technique and use sunflower accessories or pictures. That would brighten it up quite a bit.

Every bathroom should have a urinal. That way there won't be any issues with the seat bein left up.

How about "The Beach?" My neighbor did this. She painted the walls a light "sand" color. You can always find bathroom stuff with sea shells on them. She put up a border of beach scenes with light houses on it. She also put a little shelf over the toilet with little miniature light houses on it. Its really cute.

We remodeled the kids bathroom 2 years ago in Pooh and sunflowers.
