Need ideas for a hostess gift

we are going to a party in a couple of weeks at my husband's boss' house. Its their team christmas party, and usually I would just bring a bottle of wine or champagne and be happy with that. However, in my dh's business they get whatever they want in terms of beer, wine, and liquor for free, so I'm sure they already have a more than stocked cabinet.

Any other ideas? They are a young couple (30) with one young son and live just outside of NYC.

Maybe one w/ a Christmas scent.

Candle, book about one of their interests, nice smelling "guest"-type soaps, small box of high quality chocolates....

Yesterday on Oprah she had a party giving show and one of the segments was about hostess gifts. Things that were mentioned were a nice homemade cake, a pepper grinder with a package of whole peppercorns, Starbuck coffee with a thermos, also taking group picutes at the party and sending them to the hostess later as a remeberence.

Some nice kitchen hand towels or bath hand towels - Christmas ones so you don't have to worry if they match or not.

Some nice hot chocolate - Williams Sonoma has some great looking peppermint hot chocolate.

We just went to a "room warming" party, and the focus of the room is the new bar they installed. We bought them a fancy wine opening set, kind of keeping in the theme of things. Found them in the gift section of the store.

As another poster mentioned, a box of expensive chocolates is one that seems to be appreciated.

Another gift that has seemed popular is Wine Charms which slide around the base of each glass to help folks identify which glass is theirs.

Yankee Candle tart burner with 3-4 scented tarts. Yummy!
