My dd who's in third grade has a project for the 100th day of school. We need some ideas. She needs to decorate or create an items of clothing to be worn on the 100th day. The clothing must have 100 objects drawn on it or attached to it. Anyone have any good ideas for us.

My daughter has the same prject for kinddergarten...

You could do 100 many ways... imaginative, with that age group... 100 in money, 100 in time.. what is 100 seconds, 100 minutes, etc... all sorts of stuff...

DS's Kindergarten class just had to do this, but theirs wasnt a clothing thing. You could string together 100 paperclips(someone did this), but she could make it into a necklace or a belt.
Are you a pin collector? If so she could put pins on a hat or shirt.
Im not very crafty and I have sons so Im not too familiar with this stuff, but what about some of those bead making kits? Could she put 100 beads on a tee shirt? Or draw 100 of something with a clothing marker?

You could glue 100 pennies to a t-shirt. I don't suppose that's very exciting. Perhaps you could glue them in the pattern of $1.00 since 100 pennies=$1

For K dd has to do a hundred day project. We have some black poster board and then we are going to arrange 100 round yellow stickers into a smiley face.:D
Good Luck!

My son did this in kindergarten last year. I used poster board and glued 100 candles in the shape of a layered birthday cake, with of course a candle on the top. I used yellow puff paint to make the candle flame and also wrote Happy 100 days of school! Since candles are light, maybe you could glue them on a shirt? Or just draw candles on the shirt using the fabric paint.

We made a poster but you could still do this by pinning them onto a shirt ot writing on the shirt with a marker.

We did "100 excuses for why I didn't do my homework"

We did the usual like: "The dog ate it."

Some others that were a little iffy but funny: "I had to watch my dad on televison. He was featured on "America's Most Wanted" (we could get away with that as I teach at the school and so everyone knew it was a joke.)

Some normal ones like "The computer crashed and I lost all my work."

"I didn't want to use any notebook paper. I'm trying to save the Rain forest."

"We had homework?! But yesterday was a holiday: National Paperclip Day."

"I was doing a Science experiment: watching grass grow."

Xerox a $100 bill and glue those to his shirt. :jester:

We glued 100 googlie eyes onto a shirt. You could also stick on bandaids or pin on safety pins. Hot gluing works the best and you want to make sure that whatever you use is fairly light.

100 day has gotten a lot more popular now - you may find some ideas on the internet.

A hundred cotton balls on a white sweatshirt...saw that once for a sheep costume. What about 100 Disney characters' "signatures", on an article of clothing of course. Even if you didn't have 100 maybe you could fake some??? What about a necklace of some sort?

phamton....I love the homework idea!!!!

DD in K just did this for Monday....we took an old candy jar that looked like a small goldfish bowl, painted the bottom and insides to look like water and then filled it with 100 goldfish crackers. DS made a log cabin out of 100 qtips on a juice carton a few years ago.

Thanks everyone for the ideas. I'll let you know what we decide.
