Our family is scheduled to go on the Disney 11/06/05 cruise (our first!) Our problem is finding a local hotel for the day before (11/05/05). We have already booked our airline and rental car, but our TA never booked a hotel. We would LOVE to stay at the raddison, but they're totally booked for that date. I keep calling back, but no luck with any cancelations yet. The reservation operator asked if I was with a group who had booked a block of rooms. Is their anyone who has booked an extra room and will not be needing it? We have been saving for this trip for three years, and choose Disney because, who does not LOVE to feel like a kid again :) If anyone has some suggestions for this rookie cruise family, we would offer you our first born son who is currently now 12 yrs old (but we do need him back after he completes college :) Thanks.

Dave's site offers some suggestions and descriptions...dcltribute.com. I personally have only stayed at the Radisson so I can't be of more help. Good luck to ya!

The dcltribute site is very helpful, as is information in Passporter. We have stayed at the RonJon--there is a lot there for a 12 year old to enjoy!

Thanks, for the info. I cked ron jons, but could not find their home web site. The discount sites are saying its fully booked too. I thought if I called them directly, maybe....
I've been trying to google the place but have only found it thru other sites so far (no direct phone #)

Did you try to go through the Radisson directly?
Radisson Resort at the Port
8701 Astronaut Boulevard, Cape Canaveral Florida 32920
Reservations: 800 333-3333
Telephone: (321) 784-0000 Fax: (321) 784-3737
Email: info@radissonport.com

Also try Expedia.com because they may have a block reserved. I tried several months ago to book the Radisson and it wasn't available...tried again a few weeks ago and actually got a better price!

I will be getting off the Magic when you arrive!

thanks for the link to the web site, so much great info! I called radisson directly, still booked. She had said there are alot of large parties that have blocked off rooms, so maybe someone out there will not need all of them. If you come across anything else could you let me know? Thanks, we're just worried that were gonna have to stay near the airport. So do you want my 12 yr old, now or after the cruise? ;)

we are staying at the best western near the port-they offer a shuttle ($3.00 each). they have very good rates.

We always stay at the Radisson. I would suggest to keep on calling back. This happened to my IL's last year and they stayed at the Hilton, but on the day of check in they had rooms. LOL Have you tried various websites? Sometimes they have a block and will have reservations in that block available. Good Luck!

We'll be on that same cruise! We'll be staying at RonJon. I have a phone number for them, but it's at home. If you PM me, I can get it when I get home this evening and send it back to you.
We are having the same trouble finding a room for after the cruise at Disney for two nights. This seems to be a VERY busy week!
Good Luck, and we'll see you on board!!!

Do you have AAA? That may be one of the reserved blocks you might be able to access. I'm contemplating seeing if I can get my room through AirMiles. I'm thinking every little saving is going to help this time.

WOW, this forum is great. What a good support system for all. I just tried my AAA, and apparently the radisson is not a member (only cked the pre-recorded options) I did e-mail ronjon to get a one night rate today. They said a 48 hour response can be expected via e-mail. Hey all, as a first time family, I wish Disney would put this stuff on their web site as far as making reservations onboard and hotel. I feel like I missed the boat. I hate to spend all this $$ and then have to say "next time, I'll know". I thought two months was pleanty of time to reserve. I guess next time, I'll know.

Hi,

Before we decided to spend 2 nights at the Nick Hotel in Orlando, we had a res at the Radisson. When I made the initial reservation, I called and they said they were booked, but then I went to the Radisson website and was able to book it there. BEFORE you get excited, I just tried your date and the web site says unavailable, but keep trying it, too as well as calling them. Good Luck!

I know what you mean about feeling uninformed! We will be on your ship...and booked the Radisson about 5 months ago! This is a first for us because on all our past cruises, we have flown in on the day the ship leaves, and lose valuable time doing this! IDEA  Disney should buy a small piece of land near port and monopolize on this!

Oh I forgot!...I did a search on Hotwire.com and what came up was 2.5 star hotel for $73 located in Cape Canaveral/Cocoa Beach with restaurant, fitness, laundry, internet and pool! If you do the search for what this hotel is on www.betterbidding.com it shows that this hotels is most likely the Holiday Inn! There is also a 3 star for $166 which seems to be the Hilton!

go to wwwdcltribute.com. it's a great disney cruiseline tribute site that lists the hotels around the port, tells about them, gives and idea of rates, and has links to the hotel reservation sites. it also provides tons of great info. for first time cruisers!
