I'm taking my two kids (2 and 7) to WDW with my sister in a few months. We are checking in to POR on a Sunday, and would like to drive down the day before and have a pool day and get the kids all tired out so we start our vacation on a good night's sleep.

Any ideas? I'd prefer it to be off property, but close, and I'm looking to spend about $100.

How about a 3 acre lazy river, zero(beach) entry pool, large slide, and 2 hot tubs. VIDEO of - Hilton Bonnet Creek Lazy river starts about a minute in.

The Waldorf Astoria is also attached here and can use each others pools.

Depends on when you are going but I've seen rates as low as $149 before tax and resort fee($22)

At $100 you may be able to get the Caribe Royal, it has a nice waterfall pool and a slide. Also they will let an adult ride down the slide with smaller children that can't swim, or can't swim good. You may also want to look at hotwire, the Caribe Royal frequently shows up as one of their hidden deals. Select the Downtown disney area, and 4 starts or higher. The only 2 hotels (not Condo's) that match that criteria are the Caribe Royal, and The Marriot world center. The Caribe has free parking and is 95% preferred so easy to tell looking at amenities if thats what you will win.

We do the same thing when we drive, the past two trips we've spent our first night at the clarion inn lake buena vista. I wouldn't call the pool amazing, but it's nice. There is also a splash zone for kids and a little playground area. At the first Florida rest stop on 95, we grabbed a central Florida book and there was a coupon for $68 a night, about $15 cheaper than the AAA discount was.

Gaylord Palms with Cypress Springs water park. We were there a couple weekends a go for a cheer competition and it rained one afternoon. Not that we could tell walking around the beautiful atrium. They have movies in the pool, movies in the atrium (near starbucks), and lots of space for kids to roam about (with parent supervision of course), even live alligators.

This video shows the water park.

We will be staying at the Caribe Royal on our upcoming trip in August. It is our first trip off-site and I chose this resort for the price and the pool. I made reservations in November, and got a Double Queen Suite for $96 per night! Check out the pool: http://www.cariberoyale.com/amenities/
