We just got back from Orlando in late September and stayed at Animal Kingdom Lodge and Royal Pacific Resort, ( to get an idea of what we liked) We loved Orlando, and I am planning a surprise trip Dec 6-8 (just for the weekend) for my husband's birthday. We aren't planning on visiting any parks, except perhaps Citywalk one night. Can anyone recommend a nice hotel near Universal or downtown? I prefer under $100 per night!

Thanks!

You might want to try out www.hotelkingdom.com This is where I booked a 2 room Suite in the Lake Buena Vista area. It will give you info of where and what you are located near. The Summerfield Suites says you can walk to DownTown Disney and many other shops and restaurants:D this is the one I booked. They will also give you info on prices and availability, good luck and have a great trip!

If you're comfortable with Priceline try for a 3 star in the USF area. All of the choices in that category are very good and they all go for about $30 a night on a luck bid. The Radisson Universal is one of my favorites.

If not I would call and ask for the entertainment rate for the Royal Pacific or the Hard Rock. They can get CLOSE to $100.

Good luck!
