Hi, I need help figuring out where to use DDP and where to pay OOP. I have searched several sites for prices and all of them are coming back with different prices, sometimes even within the same website! :confused3

If any of you could help either if you know the prices because you recently came back and remember or if you know of a reliable site I can check.

Here is my list. Please note that all those, except 1, were chosen by DD13. She based her picks on characters and entertainment rather than actual food! My 1 and only pick was Boma (love that place).

Here goes! (I should also mention that I am going during value season and have 3 ADR I need to pay OOP)

Breakfast:

'Ohana

1900 Park Fare

Tusker House

Dinner:

Boma

'Ohana

CP

Trail's End (the reason she picked this one is because she loooooves the fried chicken at HDD and we were told that they serve the same chicken at Trail's End. Since we are not going to HDD this time, she figured it was a good compromise. If my info is incorrect, can you please let me know as I would drop this ADR from my list and have one less to pay OOP!)

WCC (this one, we know we are going to order the Canyon Skillet and the bottomless milkshake!!! :woohoo: I must be completely nuts because not only do I know where I am going to eat months ahead of time but I also know what I am going to eat! Some of my friends think I need therapy :rotfl2:

Hello! I can't answer your question, just wanted to tell you I sympathize witht the DD thing. :lmao:. This trip is just me and DD(19) She hogged all the resturaunt choices. :rotfl::lmao:

Oh, I can answer one part. I would pay OOP for Trails End. They are not very expensive (at least as of Aug 08'). I don't remember the exact cost, just remember it was less than the rest.

Thank you! I can use some sympathy! If it were up to me, the restaurant choices would be very different! Ahhh, what we do for our kids... And you are not giving me much hope... Seems that my DD may keep hogging all the restaurant choices for many years to come... :headache:

Can you tell me about the food at Trail's End? Was it OK? That's the one that I am the most reluctant about...

Breakfast meals are usually cheaper than dinner meals. I think Ohana is the cheapeast breakfast. Trail's End is the cheaper dinner buffet.

We really liked Trails End. The chicken is awesome!!!!! We liked to so much we ate there twice last trip (We were staying in the cabins anyway).

Yep...DD will "rule" the household indefinitely. :rotfl::rotfl:

Thanks for letting me know about the chicken!!! DD will be thrilled! :woohoo:

Just remember that the prices go up so no website will be 100% accurate. I usually use one website as my reference price.

Looks like Boma's breakfast and Trail's end may be your cheapest places.

I don't think that you are nuts in any way. I already know what I will be ordering for just about every meal during our week stay in December. The only one still in question is the one that will be a part of our Candlelight Processional Package since they can not yet be booked so I don't know which restaurant we'll get.

Thanks! I'm glad to know I'm not the only one in this situation! :crazy2: We are fortunate enough this year to be able to go 2x. In September for MNSSHP and in December for MVMCP!!! Believe it or not, I already know where we want to book our Candlelight Processional Package... Drum roll please... Of course, DD's decision again... Garden Grill!!! (again, not my choice :rotfl:). Now fingers crossed that I can actually get the ADR once they finally start booking... :scared:

According to allearsnet.com it looks like Breakfast at Tusker and 1900 Park Fare and Dinner at Trails End are your three cheapest.

The menu price for 1900 Park Fare dinner here at the Dis is more recent and higher than the one at allears - $40.46 (June 2010) versus $35.99 (July 2009). If in doubt, go with the higher price!

*edited to add: But you're not eating dinner there, so don't mind me! ;)

The allears menus don't include tax. Do the Dis menus include tax? I can't tell.

They're both very inconsistent :(. (Something I'm slowly working on addressing in my own way ;)). AllEars seems to be behind by a good bit lately too, most of their menus are pretty old (early-mid 09 is what I've been seeing lately).

Thanks for the info, cafeen!
The Park Fare breakfast is listed as $22.36 on both sites, now that I'm looking at the correct meal.

Aww, you're an awesome mom :cheer2:

Breakfast tends to be less than dinner as OP said. I would plan to pay OOP for the 3 breakfast. Even if the prices you look at are outdated, most likely they are still in proportion. In other words, if your 3 bfast are least expensive, even if their actual prices turn out to be about $5 more than you figure, the other ones will also be more by about $5. I too would base my decision which website shows the highest prices.

If you want to be sure though, I would call WDW-dining to find out the price of the bfast buffets including tax, they should be able to tell you. Then when you're on your trip, when you go to dinner if by some remote chance they are less than what you know the bfast are going to be, pay OOP for that dinner instead of your most expensive b-fast not yet paid for.

P.S. I don't think you're nuts at all preplanning where & what you're going to eat! Have a great trip!

Thanks dandave! Even though this trip we are going for Breakfast, the dinner is already on my DD's list for next trip! So the info isn't lost!!! It is a pricy buffet though... :scared1: Do you know if it's worth it? Have you been there before?

I can't tell either??? :confused3

Thank you TwiddleDeeTwiddleDum! ! You know, it's all about making sure DD has the time of her life! And thanks for not thinking I'm nuts! I think non-disneyers just don't get it! :rotfl2:

Hi Disney Geek! Glad to know that my inability to concentrate came in handy for the Park Fare dinner. No, I haven't had dinner there. My boys are old teens now, and they won't let mom eat at character meals very often anymore no matter how much I whine. ;)
I did take my little niece to the 1900 Park Fare breakfast not long ago, and I enjoyed the strawberry soup very much. Have fun with your DD!
