I will be attempting my first disney trip with my 2 ds (3 and 5) without my DH. What do I do on the rides that are two seaters? Will they let us go on and have a single rider sit next to me or my DS 5? I am really nervous about the ride situation.

Thank you

Well I go with my 3 to DL, ages 6, 3 and 11 months a lot without DH. Most rides are fine, Dumbo, Rockets, Peter Pan, Autopia, and most others fit three. The only ride I can think of at DL that is strictly a two seater is Gadget's Go Coaster, which is the equivalent of the Barnstormer. Any other rides that only seat 2, your youngest probably wouldn't be able to go on! Have fun!

I took my then 5 and 2 yo's last Dec and we didn't have a problem with most rides, even Goofy's Barnstormer. It must not have been too bad because I plan on taking my girls again this December. My hardest thing is trying to tell my 6yo she can't go on Space Mountain because her sister can't go on it. But we will survive. :)

That is hard! I feel ya! It was much easier when everyone could only go on everything together. But I am amazed they let you all three sit on the Barnstormer. Maybe it is different than Gadget's Go Coaster, I have tried 2 or 3 times and they will not let me sit 3 of us!

Can my 3 and 5 y/o sit in one seat and I sit out back of them on some of the two seaters? hmmmmm

Thanks for everyones advice

I have gone with 2 kids, and you can be a single rider behind them. The cast members are very understanding. If you have any questions, they can help! Splash mountain and big thunder mountain you would have to sit behind if they wanted to ride them. With mine, we just didn't do them. Youngest didn't want to sit without me, and I wouldn't let oldest sit alone. Now, they are old enough for me to just watch from the side lines. I do get misty eyed missing the days when I was all powerful to them :goodvibes yet I do enjoy them being older!

Not quite sure exactly which ones you are thinking of. Even on the dark rides like Snow White, you can sit all 3 in the back row and leave the front empty if no one wants to sit alone. We do it all the time. Same on Pooh, Buzz (You won't get a gun), Autopia (we have to ride 2 times so that both can have a chance to drive). I can't think of many that are strictly two seaters other than what I mentioned earlier. Even Dumbo/Aladdin you can fit all three of you in one. The ones I can think of (Space, etc) you wouldn't be able to ride with all three right? Maybe your youngest is extremely tall and I'm completely wrong!! :rotfl:

Forgot to add, I don't know if it's different at WDW than DL, but if we were on Dumbo for an example, they won't let anyone sit alone in their own until age 7. So you would have to all three ride together due to the ages. But on a dark ride where the two seats are in the same car and they are right in front of you, the kiddos can sit together and you can sit directly behind them.

Your youngest will have to enter first though. They want the oldest on the outer edge, just so you can have them ready to enter while you are in line. Makes it much smoother than figuring out who goes where. Mine always liked to ride in one seat with me though! Have fun!

I travel alone with my two dd's and have since they were your childrens ages and we have always sat 3 to a seat. I am a bit over average size and my dd's are 9 and 11 and we still fit in most of the attractions. The only ride we don't sit together anymore is the barnstormer and that is only because they would rather ride together alone now. We still fit in all the fantasyland rides, Buzz, TTA, Haunted Mansion, Dumbo and Alladin, Splash and BTMR. EE is only two to a seat but that has a 44" restriction and Space Mtn is 3 to a car one behind the other. RnRc is also two in a seat but has a 48" restriction so we separate for those three.

In my experience no, we were told you have to be 7 or ride with a responsible adult. When my dd's were 6 and 8 we tried to have them in one seat together with me behind them and were told no. I had to ride in the car with the 6yo so it was either all of us in one car or my 8yo rode alone. We chose 3 to a car and were always fine.

Enjoy

Hi! We took our 3 kids (ages 4,4 almost 3) to WDW last month. Dh was along, but he always sat with our 2 year old so I had the twins with me (or vice versa).

Every single ride we went on the twins and I fit in one seat....and I am "Pooh sized"! Even Goofy's Barnstormer the 3 of us fit with no problem. On both Splash and Big Mountain Railroad my Dh rode in one seat with the twins (although your youngest will probably be too short for those rides anyway).
I don't think you'll have any problems with the 3 of you in one seat.

Thank you so much. You just eased a lot of my anxiety. Our 3 y/o is 4 y/o size so he does meet the height requirements. I am so glad to know that 3 of us can fit on Splash Mountain. My 5 y/o would have been devastated. Thanks again!

Yes you will fefinitely be fine I have been taking my girls to the world since they were babies and never had a problem. Have a great trip
