Need help with ressie planning!

Hello all, I'm having a brain-freeze right now, and need to ask a question. I know you all can help me sort this out. We have a December UY at SSR. Our Dec 07 points were used completely on our vacation in Dec 07. So we will have 200 points coming to us Dec 08. We not planning to return to WDW until Dec 09 (taking DH's cousins with us and would like to have 400 points to play with). Now, I know my 11 month window will be Jan 09, and we'll have our current 200 points (having gotten them the month before). My question is this: do I have to first bank those points and then book a dec 09 reservation, or can I just make the reservation like I normally do? If I haven't completely confused anyone else (only myself) and help would be appreciated!

Yes, bank the 2008 points into 2009 (as long as the 09 vacation starts after Dec. 1. If you are starting the trip, let's say on Nov. 30, leave enough points in 08 to cover that night).

Is your DH's cousins totally on board? If they are uncomitted, I would reserve a studio and a 1BR. It costs more points but if they back out, you can cancel one or the other (which could be important since December is a busy time for members).

thanks for the help! Yes, they're definitely on board, and really looking forward to it. It's still far away, but we've already made some plans for when we're down there. So I might as well just bank the points as soon as I get them in Dec 08, since Jan will be my 11 month window. Ok, this is making sense. I thought I might need to do that, but I'm still fairly new to DVC, so I have a lot to learn.
