My dh gave me my engagement ring in front of Cinderella's Wishing Well (on the path between the castle and Tomorrowland, next to the water).
He knew I didn't want it to be too "public" and that he HAD to give me my ring at the Magic Kingdom since I love that park so much.
I found out later that he had NO plan or idea of where or how he was going to give me the ring other than at WDW. We stopped at DTD and MGM that day and ended up at the TTC in the early afternoon. We opted to take the boat across to MK and while waiting on the dock I got all teary eyed at seeing the castle again. At that moment he knew that he had to give me the ring at MK.
SO... we walked through Main Street and got detoured around by something or other and ended up on the path between Tomorrowland and the Castle. Dh paused at Belle's storytelling garden, turned to me and told me he wanted to sit down because he was tired (he figured it would be a good spot since it was deserted). I looked around and thought we wouldn't be allowed to hang out there because of the storytelling schedule. I was kind of puzzled as to why dh would be tired since we had JUST gotten to the MK, but I didn't say anything.
We continued on down the path and came to the wishing well. I suggested to dh that we could sit on the bench there...then spent some time complaining that it should be Snow White's well, not Cindy's while dh scoped out the area...again no people so he agreed.
Dh then asked me if I wanted to make a wish... he gave me a penny and I made my wish...then continued complaining about how little water there was in the well and how they could have put more in to make it more authentic. Meanwhile, dh is pulling the ring box out of his fanny pack (which he purchased that morning at DTD freaking out that he had nowhere to carry the box around w/o me seeing the box in his pocket).
I turned around and there dh was on his knee w/ my ring.
He said, "Is this what you wished for?"
He's such an awesome guy! He married me anyway ...even after all the complaining and everything I did to thwart his plans. We've been married for 10yrs now and have two kids. Every time we go back to WDW we get our picture taken at the well together with the kids!!
Here is a photo of me and the kids during our last trip in June. Dh had to leave a day earlier than the rest of us to get back to work so we emailed this to him while he was waiting for his flight!
I'm the kind of person that really doesn't like to be the center of attention so I was thrilled that dh didn't opt for CRT, CG, ...or on the steps of the castle. I probably could have dealt w/ the rose garden..but not during the fireworks...too many people around!
