Need help with Priceline - scooter problem

We bid on a full size vehicle through Priceline for our upcoming trip. We choose this vehicle after our request for a van was denied. We went ahead with this vehicle because their site showed how much would fit in the trunk. Ok, problem is after looking at a couple of fullsize cars I realize that my scooter will not fit. What they said would fit on their web site is not accurate. I have tried to cancel with them explaining the situation and they won't budge. I was told to try and get an upgrade at the counter when I arrive. I can't afford to be stuck at the airport. Who do I contact for help?

I see that you already asked this question on the Budget Board - they are the ones who will most likely know the answer. I hope that you can work it out, or get an upgrade at the counter when you arrive.

I was about to move your question to the Budget Board for you, but I saw teri's note that said you already posted it there. You might also try Transportation if you don't get help on the Budget Board.
I don't have a lot of advice, just maybe a printout of the info on the website that made you think the scooter would fit and a copy of any correspondence you had with them about the size. I guess other than that, it dependss on whether the people at the desk are empowered (and want) to make the decision you need.
Good luck.

Be aware that asking for an upgrade at the counter may wipe out all your Priceline savings and more.

At least for travellers with no reservation at all, they will typically be greeted by the rental agent saying that all he has left are full size [read: expensive] cars.

Bring a hank of rope. You may end up having to put the scooter in the trunk with the lid not being able to close over it.

Hey, I know a person with your daily challenges can overcome this. Assuming they won't let you upgrade, and I'm thinking thaats not a problem at the rental place, one alternative would be to have dear spouse or whoever load up the "stuff"
and make a run to the hotel. You could get a coke
and a paer and he would be back before you know it, also the rope trick if all else fails, hey a family of five(mine), we had to ride in an ecomy car, it wasn't easy, kids sat on suitcases, but hey it's not really that far from the airport, I know you can overcome this, quit sweating it, vacation is like this, there will be several "crisis" that you will have to wing....

I personally dont like priceline as Ive tried to use them for a hotel ressie once and it WAS a disaster...we did finally convince them to cancel the ressie..but you had to ask for the boss of the boss of the boss... ya know how that goes :(
