NEED HELP WITH POSSIBLY RARE ITEM! ANY EXPERTS HERE?

A few days ago I purchased this item from a thrift shop. It appears to be an award that was presented to Bo Boyd in 1996. The statue measures 12 inches from base to tip of the ear and weighs around 10 pounds or more. The name plate reads Milan, Oct. 9, 1996 To Bo Boyd Honorary Member Of Accademia Disney. I cant find any photos of an event where Bo was given this item and also cant find this award in any pictures of any kind.

Upon further searches online I read something interesting. Mr Boyd retired from Disney in the year 2000 and moved to Mesquite Nevada. I live in Mesquite. I bought this from the Bunkerville thrift shop which is the town right next to us here in Mesquite.

I have attached pictures of the item. There is some wear as it seems someone tried to maybe clean it with some unknown liquid. The statue is very rough as though there is some kind of crud on it. I fear cleaning it as I dont want to hurt any of its value.

Any info on value or best appraisers would be great. Thank you.

I haven't logged in for awhile, but I had to just to say how cool that is. From one thrifter to another, nice score! I couldn't tell you a value. Obviously, the more history you can dig up the more value it will hold. As to the white spots, one of my hobbies has me working with a lot of antique brass, and to me it just looks like some slight corrosion. I agree you shouldn't try cleaning it until you can determine if it's brass, brass plated, or something else entirely. From the pictures it appears to me to be lacquered brass.

Milan is his daughter. he must have died or something and the statue ended up at the store.

Can't find anything on a daughter named Milan. I can find some disney animation being done in Italy at a place called Accademia Disney.
