need help with poem or song thingy

hi, i'm entering this to be a song for this contest and my mom says it's fine the way it is, but I really don't like it, but i'm stuck! i cant think of anything else to add because it has to do with making a difference and i can't really think knowing they gave me a topic, can u please help me? thanx!

can be something small
from cleaning up your room
as to cleaning up a hall
everyone can make a difference
as to who , what , why , and when
so every now and then
try to make a difference

for family , friends , state, and nation
when you see one doing it,
it may form a temptation.
making a difference a day
will send you on your way
and making a difference in our world
will open up a new doorway.

i like writing poems and stuff so i might be able to think of something but don't laugh at me plz.

and when you are done
you will get respect
your soul will be cleansed
and your pain may finally end

that is all i have right now but i might be back later with somthing else
