need help with OVAL!!!

Yes I know. . .that sounds wierd!!! I need an oval so that I can place names in it like name tags. A maroon oval.
maybe something like this
I have a friend that is trying to make shirts for the Peanut Festival that is coming up soon in our area. She has the business name for the back and I was TRYING to help with the "name tags" . I have PHOTOSHOP but I can NOT make OVALS!!! When I was trying the Photoimpact I could. But not now .

I would appreciate ANY help with learning how to do the ovals. . . or someone making me an oval and then TELLING me how to do it!!

To make an oval in Photoshop you just use the circle shape and pull out the ends.

To change the color of your shape, click on the foreground color box and change the color that way. It is in the panel on the side and has two boxes, one in front and one in back, you click on the front one.
