Need Help with Obsessive/Compulsive Planning

Well let's face it-- I have less than 115 days before we sail, so I'd better get planning!!

So here are some miscellaneous questions:

LANYARDS: I plan to purchase one of the DIS lanyards for obvious reasons. I assume DCL has a nice one DH can buy so he'll also have it as a souvenir? Is this true?

KTTW CARDS: Will DS4 and DD3 get one of these? I assume DH and I will carry them since they'd probably choke themselves (or each other ) if they have to wear a lanyard.

BEACH TOWELS: I understand that towels are available for CC and the pools. In your opinion, should I bother taking beach towels? Are the provided towels of good quality/size? Should I save the packing space and leave the beach towels at home?

FUN PARAPHENALIA: Don't know what else to call it... But since Christmas is about a month before our cruise, we will be having a VERY Disney Christmas this year. So far I've bought DD and DS a plush Mickey Boat with Sailor Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Pluto off ebay for the kids to open. I also have a Disney beach towel for each of them (see above...). Any other fun ideas for gifts leading up to the cruise??? I've bought DH and I requisite Disney t-shirts.

ANTENNA TOPPERS: PLEASE tell me they have a DCL Mikey Antenna topper! My kids love to spot the different ones I'd certainly like to have one dedicated to the Mickey Boat.

I'm so excited about this cruise, I almost can't stand it! Christmas planning is taking a back seat to planning for the Mickey Boat! I'm the one forcing my kids to watch the DCL DVD...

Bwahahaha! You should see my chart checklist I had for the cruise! When i emailed it to dh, he threatened to leave me.

They have a VERY nice one in the Mickey Mates store -- blue with the cruise line name imprinted on it, and a sailing Mickey with a KTTW card holder. I wish we had bought them.

All passengers get them, but the kids only need them for getting on and off the boat. We carried them for them.

I thought the pool towels were small -- I was able to tie them around my waist, but not my chest. (Sorry; too much information?) Next time, i will take cheap beach for me and dh.

They do, and it's cute as a bug, er, mouse. $4.

Lanyard: Yes DCL has them. Yes they are much more expensive than what you would pay for them at home. But at $6 or $8 each, they will be the least expensive souveneer you purchase while on board the ship. They also have plastic watertight lanyards you use while swimming. Two sizes, a thin one that holds 2 - 4 KTTW cards or the thick one that looks like it could hold a pack of cigarettes (don't smoke so don't really know how big a pack of cigs are). We have the thick one. Holds our KTTW cards, a visa card and some cash (for when we go to the beach off of the ship).

KTTW Cards - Yes the kiddos get them, Yes I would hold on to them. Don't turn off their charging privlidges and see how big of a bill your litte ones can ring up It would be interesting to see what a 3yo would buy vs a 4yo.

Beach Towels: I wouldn't waste the space in the suitcase bringing my own. Yes, DCL towels currently are not huge "beach towels" but as you're leaving the ship grab several and it will work out for you. Bonus: you don't have to clean them!!!

Don't really know about the rest.

Re: Beach Towels

I saw a post earlier this week (maybe even today) where DCL is replacing the small towels with larger ones. I bet by the time you travel, they will be the big ones.

On our last cruise, I bought a beach towel onboard - I used it on the beach in Nassua ( no Castaway for us - sniff, sniff) and had a great souvenir!

mamacrush.....I am on the same boat as you...January 29th Western and OMG I cannot control my excitement at times....I will be following this thread to see the answers you get..... This will be my 2nd cruise....I went in January this year....you are absolutely going to love it!!!!
