I haven't flown in years. And when I did it went like this: Go into the airport, find your airline check-in desk, say good-bye to your luggage, pick up your boarding pass and go to your gate.
So..now that you can print off your boarding pass before you leave home, where the heck do you leave your luggage? Do you take it with you to the gate?

First off, we'd never flown out of Boston before so I was worried about that, and like you posted, I didn't have 'tickets' in my hand. It all went really smooth!
We had a really early flight, so there was no one to check our baggage curbside (we also got there like 3 hrs before the flight, worrying about traffic), but we just proceeded into the building at our airlines door and there is still the same desks there. The kiosk, which I was clueless as to what they were are just computerscreens that will print out your tickets. Very user friendly!! Once you get that you take your luggage to the desk, they will probably ask for id and your tickets, print out luggage tags and take your bags. All in all pretty easy! Oh, btw, they will weigh your luggage also!! If you are anything like me, check what your airline's weight limit is. I went over on the way home and had to buy a $10 duffle bag for $30 to put the extra things in!!!
