Need help with my contribution to raffle baskets

The gardening theme is a great idea. Spring bulbs, a trowel and gloves. Done. If another team already has those then I would just get something off the requested list.

Mani/pedi stuff was included in the "hawiian holiday" theme. I LOVE this idea, though. The problem is - if you contribute something for a different team's them - you will still get charged $20 for your DD's team's theme. I'm not wanting to contribute 2-times.

I get the pont. I just think that we got stuck with a sucky theme. DD's team got stuck with a sucky theme last year too. I just think there should be a "thank you mom" theme - all spa stuff Cuz - we are the ones that pay for this sport/travel etc all darn year. (Oops - that almost sounds like a vent...)

That is so lame....spring break is time for flip flops so cute toes are a must. I think it's sad that you can't do a basket with the same stuff as the "hawaii" themed baskets...and yes, they should be happy with all contributions, not just what they want. I did a basket for DDs band raffle, I just put some Avon stuff in it that I had hanging around the house, they loved it and it actually sold quite a few tickets!

I like the gardening idea, our Target has garden tools (hand trowels, hand shovels, gloves, etc) in the Dollar Spot, get a bucket from the Dollar Spot too, add the tools, gloves, grab some seeds and you're done!

OP here...I opted to go with the gas GC. I was able to take care of the through SCRIP - so I'll even earn a "whopping" $1.00 for my DD's account too.

I do agree - tequilla sounds great...so does the beer...HOWEVER - since our practices and our shows happen at middle school...there is a strict alcohol policy.

While there were many great suggestions...one of the "rules" was something "I" would spend money on raffle tickets for...I would definitely want to win a gas GC. DVD's...wouldn't interest me in the least. I loved the mani/pedi idea eventhough it wasn't on our "list"...but both DD and I have ours scheduled due to a great Groupon. (DD doesn't even know yet...it will be a b-day present, I secheduled her for the day before prom...but I digress...)

I still am thinking there MUST be a way to get tequilla into the school!

I keep Itunes giftcards around the house - cuz they always make a perfect gift. One of the other teams has the "teen girl" basket - and Itunes were one of the recommended donations for that basket. (Again - if I donate something for another basket - they will gladly take the donation, however, they will then bill me for $20 for something for my DD's team basket.)

I think I am still leaning towards a gas card. It wasn't, however, on the suggested donation list, but I can make a great argument that it is 'spring break-related"

Instead of making myself crazy trying to figure out what to donate, I'd just hand them a $20 bill and be done with it. Then THEY can figure out what to donate that won't overlap with whatever anyone else does.

a bottle of Vodka - Smirnoff - $12-15 or Trader Joes has some under $15 with really pretty bottles
a bottle of mix - cosmo, lemon drop, blue raspberry, sour apple etc. $5 or so

I just bid on and won this exact basket for my Auntie! It was a hotly sought after basket.

Oh bummer! I was going to say to get one of the overhead compartment size duffle bags from TJMaxx or Marshalls or something to carry all the other basket stuff in! Kind of like instead of the basket you get the bag and you can use the bag for a trip!

I would also have suggested a nice pair of sunglasses from one of those places perhaps? Along with a bottle of sunscreen! lol

The other thing that always always always goes at any fund raisers we go to is a lottery ticket board. I would have gotten a Frisbee or something else beachy and covered it with $1 lottery tickets and scratch offs!
