I recently signed up to run the half marathon in Disneyworld's Marathon Weekend 2010. Ive been running since the beginning of January. Just beginning training via runnersworld.com.....run 4 min walk 1 min that type a thing.
A few days ago I noticed my left knee was sore. Not at all painful...but "weird". Now its a constant sore...I made an appt for next Thurs...the earliest they can get me in at the ortho...but oh my god. This was such a big goal of mine to run this half. What do I do now as far as my training? What if its something serious and I cant even run the race??!?

. I was so scared that I wasn't going to be able to run the race. My PT used to run marathons, so she really knew her stuff. She examined me and found that my left IT band was weak, so that was causing my knee pain. She gave me a bunch of exercises to do twice a day and she also told me to buy a foam roller. I did my exercises faithfully and also saw her once a week until the marathon. I couldn't believe it when I crossed the finish line on marathon day - I did not have one bit of knee pain for the entire 26.2 miles!
