My group of Disney fanatics will be heading down in November. This will be the first time we are (willingly) not getting a reservation inside Hollywood studios for lunch.
Please help me decide what the best quick/counter service option for food in Hollywood Studios.

We like Backlot Express, it's rarely crowded and the food isn't bad. We also enjoy the HBD lounge, o.k. we love the HBD lounge. There are some decent offerings at Fairfax Market.

My family on I love Backlot Express. It was solid food and I personally love getting the Darth Vader cupcake there as well. I usually try to schedule my fast pass for Star Tours before because its next door.

We went to DHS 3 times and only did a reservation once.
We thought the Chicken Club at ABC was good but nothing else seemed it :)
I really liked Fairfax Fare

I wanted to try Min & Bills sliders but we opted for A/C @ ABC

Backlot Express is our favorite (but that lemon BB8 cupcake was the weirdest thing I have ever eaten - maybe try a different dessert!).

We generally choose Backlot Express as well. It has plenty of seating, the food is pretty good, and if you are lucky you can see the mini Jedi training next door.

Can't wait to have chicken & waffles at Backlot Express again!

Backlot Express for us, really like the Dark Side chicken and waffles and you always find a place to sit.

I agree Hollywood Studios lacks a lot of QS choice, we usually visit 4 times per trip, we choose Backlot Express twice, either ABC Commisary or Rosie's/Fairfax, and we used to do Starring Rolls once, unfortunately that's long gone

We have enjoyed the food at Fairfax Fare (and whatever the other QS stations are in that area) but the seating is outdoors and HOT.

This trip we tried Backlot Express and enjoyed it. The food is nothing special, but it's good. It has plenty of seating and the all important AC. Plus, free drink refills. We actually ate there twice. The location is very central and convenient. ABC Commissary also is centrally located. That also has plenty of seating and AC. We stopped in there for drinks to take a break one hot afternoon.

We went to the Pizza place last week. There weren't a ton of options on the menu, but it was okay and it wasn't crazy busy, which was nice.

I really like and recommend the Mediterranean Salad at ABC Commissary (without chicken). It has a little hummus and pita chips with it too, quite good. And don't skip the choc mousse, though it is rich, so you may want to share it.

Is ABC dinner a quick service meal on the dining plan? It doesn't say on the menu for dinner, and the lunch and dinner menus are different which is unusual for a quick service restaurant.

On dining plan for lunch and dinner. The menu does change for lunch and dinner, and, for dinner, you can order the more expensive dinner options on the dining plan with a QS credit.
