Need Help with food budget for Atlantis/Bahamas

keep watching travelocity ect.. My friend is going down in 2 weeks to Atlantis and was able to get a room there for $125 a night!! Last year she got it for $89!! (and that is for 4 people in the room) At that price we may try it next year.

Yea, but what was her airfare? Or did she book and cancel when she found a better deal? We are starting to get into their slow season. You will see a lot more deals there when we get into hurricane season.

2 years ago, I found a 1 bedroom in Harborside (their TS) for $215 a night in May for my son for his honeymoon. We had them booked in the Royal Towers (the highrise) for $500 a night.

We spent 2 nights at CS in December and there's a Quiznos in the small mall area right across the street from CS.

Stitch and Friends - Yes, booking a room at CS gives you full access to Atlantis.

A lot of people book a room there (CS) while on their cruise rather than pay for the excursion. It is much cheaper but you must get yourself there and back to the ship. Just remember they do have an occupancy limit even for just the cruise stay and I think, if I remember correctly, the limit is 4 or 5.

My SIL and family were just there. She was concerned about the cost/value of the food also. There's nothing worse than paying $20 for a gross hamburger. She inquired with the airline about checking a cooler. She said it was great. She got a fairly sturdy soft sided cooler, filled it up and used an FAA approved lock. She had no problems but I do know she also inquired about what could not go in the cooler. Have a great time!

She got great airfare too! She is my travel bargain finder. She booked the room first then got the air. This was last minute and she was flexible on travel dates.

If anyone is interested in Atlantis itself, Travelzoo posted a great deal today in the top 20 that includes meals (breakfast and dinner). Kids under 6 eat free, too.

It's outside under a large covered patio and it had the basics...donuts, muffins, bagels, toast, cereal, fruit, juice, coffee. For us, it was enough to get us by until lunch.
