need HELP WITH DRIVING

Okay...we are driving from Illinois to Florida to get on a cruise ship because my 14 year old daughter refused to fly. Her best friend and mother are going with us, (a girl trip!). Anyway, we usually just stop and pick up a roadside motel discount book when we are ready to stop. This is with our family(husband,brother,ect). Since there are no MEN going, and security might be an issue,the other mother wants to know if she can view these books online somewhere, so we can make a more "informed" choice. I have tried several key search words without any luck? Does anybody have a link to the site, or happened to travel down I-75 south of Macon,GA to Florida State line, is where we think we will stop of the night?

I don't know of any particular hotels in that area, but I have found that Hampton Inns feel safer for us. My daughter and I travelled from SC up through NC and VA looking at colleges last spring, and we cancelled several reservations at another hotel chain because we didn't feel comfortable with the location or appearance of the hotels. We ended up staying in Hampton Inns at almost every stop.

I travel I-95 to Disney by myself, and finding a safe hotel for the night is a huge concern for me, too. I tend to stay at Hampton Inns or Fairfield Inns. I only stay at interior corridor hotels. I do alot of research trying to find the "right" hotel in the right area. I also asked here on the DIS and found a couple of good ones. Sorry I can't help on a trip from Illinois, but I think you are wise for trying to find a good hotel in advance!

There is a Hampton Inn off of exit 101. Looking at the website Ann posted 101 seems to be a good exit to stop at too.

Exit 101 - U.S. 280, GA 90, Cordele, Abbeville
Food: Burger King, Captain D's Seafood, Cracker Barrel, Dairy Queen,Denny's, Golden Corral, Hardee's, KFC, Krispy Kreme, Krystal, McDonalds, Pizza Hut, Shoney's, Subway, TCBY Yogurt, Taco Bell, Waffle House, Wendy's, Western Steer

Gas: Amoco, BP, Chevron, Citgo, Exxon, Racetrac, Spur, Texaco

Lodging: Comfort Inn, Days Inn, Econolodge, Economy Inn, Hampton Inn, Holiday Inn Express, Quality Inn, Ramada Inn, Rodeway Inn

Shopping: CVS Drugs, Goody's, Piggly Wiggly, Wal-Mart, Winn Dixie

Looks like there is enough going on at that exit to feel comfortable staying there overnight. If you are not a Hampton Inn person there are a few others to choose from that seem good for you and your group.

I've got to buy the book that lists all of this, those books are amazing!
