Am planning on going to London and need help planning a "quickie" to Disney Paris. Any suggestions? Where to book, which hotel, advise on using the eurostar?

You might try the UK board.

I went to Disneyland Paris a few years ago. I splurged and stayed at the Disney Hotel. It is right in the park entrance and was very nice, but very expensive!!

Mary on www.mousesavers.com has posted some info on packages to Disneyland Paris.

I did that last year. A few tips:

British Airways and American Airlines are partners. If you have any miles for American Airlines, or have a credit card that rewards points for them (American Express does), you can fly roundtrip from London to Paris for 15,000 points. It's much quicker than taking the Eurostar. Additionally, sometimes British Midlands runs airfare specials, and that can be cheaper than the Eurostar.

As for hotels, your best bet is to stay in Paris and take the train to Disney. The train stops right at the gates of Disney, and is about a 45 minute ride from Paris. If you do this, you can save money by staying at a hotel in Paris proper, rather than at Disney.

Also ... you can't negotiate on a park pass from Disneyland Paris. For instance, if you stay at a Disney hotel for 3 nights, you must get a 3 day pass. So, if you wanted to spend a day sight seeing in Paris, you still have to get a 3 day pass. I don't think they sold hotel rooms without a pass. It turned out to be much more expensive than staying in a hotel in Paris and buying park tickets.

And, lastly, the Studios over there are not that great. I don't know what the reviews are lately, but when it opened, it was admittedly a disappointment.

I saw rates for flying at $39 from London to Paris. I think I saw it on www.bestfares.com, but it was being offered by the airlines. British Midlands does sound familiar.

Anyway, that's cheaper than the Eurostar, which was about $200 round trip.

Also, check out the UK board, they have a lot more info on Disneyland Paris.

We went to DLP in August, staying in the New York hotel. Since we live in England it was easy to arrange.

We went by Eurostar from Ashford Kent, this is the first stop after London. If you are staying in London then I would recommend Eurostar, it will be quicker. By the time you have got to the airport, checking in etc it will take longer. It is about 35 min from Paris airport to DLP, whereas the train stops at DLP. They have direct services for DLP and it will take 3 hours from London. If you look at the Eurostar web site it will give details of any special offers at the moment. We paid £79 return ($120) for each person, but you can get even better deals. We could of paid just £59 to Paris return, but didn't want the hassel of changing at Paris.

As far as the hotels in DLP, I would recommend the Newport Bay, this is one of the best value hotels. It is not the cheapest, about the same as a moderate. The Santa Fe is horrible! If you want to just do the parks and be close the action then stay on site. You can book hotel only, but you would have to phone DLP direct and not go through the travel center. They do speak English and are very helpful. Breakfast is included in all the hotels.

Why not get a cheap fare to Paris, stay there for a night and then move to DLP for a couple of nights. There are lots of web sites for hotels in Paris.

While the planes can be cheap, remember that to verify the airport they use.

Disney BB is right, the train is suppose to be quicker. I saw a test onetime where they took both the plane and the Eurostar from London to Paris. Eurostar was actually quicker since it went directly from downtown London to downtown Paris (and onto Disney!)

We stayed at the Newport Bay Club ~3 years ago and liked it very much. It's a short (15 min.) walk to DLP around a lake and through their version of Downtown Disney.

I hope that I don't offend anyone with this comment, but, although it is charming, it is definitely is NOT WDW. Just don't expect the little "magical" things that sometimes happen. Maybe our expectations of great customer service were a little high. -- JUST MY OPINION!

Of course, that wouldn't stop me from going again!

Have a wonderful time.
