I don't know which resort to stay in. My Fi and I are going to Disney Feb. 7-14th, 2005 for our honey moon. We went 2 years ago and stayed at the All Star Movies toy Story, which was great. However sine this is going to be our honey moon we want to stay somewhere a little bit nicer. I'm thinking about staying at the Animal Kingdom lodge, but i am a very very picky eater and am not sure if I would eat at any of the places there, yet I would like to stay there for the views of the savannah. We wouldn't get a savannah view unless we were upgraded though (not in the budget). I'm also thinking about the Wilderness Lodge, I love all the pics I've seen of it and know that I would be able to eat at the various palces there. My other thoughts are for any of the Moderate Resorts, but don't know which. I would just like to have a romantic honeymoon, and don't really have a clue on where to stay. Sorry this is so long. Thanks for all your help!!

don't worry about your food problems - Boma has something for everyone.

AKL or WL - either would be great.

in the moderate I would pick one of the PO (POR or POFQ) - both (in my opinion) are romantic.

I would probably go with WL - but I happen to like that style - your taste which be completely different. Go on your taste....

WL can be very romantic!

There are lots of eating options! You can take the boat directly to CR and FW. You can take the TTC to easily the Poly's resturants. Both CR & Poly are just a short hop away from GF, so you can add their resturants too.

WL generally has some pretty good deals, too.

Happy honeymooning!

I'm leaniing towards the Wilderness Lodge. (I don't understand all the abbreviations just yet). I really like the atmosphere of the place. Does anyone have any good or bad things to report about the Wilderness Lodge? Do you think there is a good chance of getting an upgrade when we get there? If we don't get one it would be fine, just being in Disney is wonderful... Has anyone gotten an upgrade before without asking for one?
Thanks again.

We have stayed at both WL and AKL and love them both. But if I were going for my honeymoon I would pick WL. All the plus of a deluxe, but it is a small hotel. Very intimate and we always felt like we had the place to ourselves. Lots of little sitting spots and loved to be able to sit on the beach or look out at the lake. Of course, you are close to the MK and the monorail hotels for your eating options.

We love POR too, but for honeymoon, I would take it up a notch and stay at the WL.

www.wdwig.com or www.allearsnet.com will have pictures of all the resorts and rooms. These pictures will give you a better idea of what the resorts look like. Not knowing your tastes it's hard to pick what is romantic for you.....Take a look at that website, hopefully it will help you out

Love WL - great hot tubs and the boat to MK. It is also fun to tour the other resorts in the area.

Request a king size bed but note that many rooms with kings are handicap accessible - no tub just a shower. If you want king with a tub, be sure to ask for it.

Courtyard view is nice but so is the lodge view and the woods view.

Be sure to tell them you are on your honeymoon!

Take the boat to Fort Wilderness and enjoy the best breaksat lunch and dinner buffets at the World.

This ia a lovely quiet romantic hotel

I think you should stay at the Wilderness Lodge!!!!! I don't think you will be disappointed.

WL and AKL are great, BUT I recently stayed at POFQ and was very impressed. If I were you, given that you are on a budget, I would book a king bed room in POFQ and use the money that you save on some romantic meals.

I love Port Orleans French Quarter or the Contemporary Tower. Wildnerness Lodge seems to have an enormous walk to most rooms unless you're by the elevator (same goes for Boardwalk). The rooms also seem VERY dark. Grand Florida has some beautiful rooms (along with Boardwalk). French Quarter rooms are close to parking and close to a pool and jacuzzi (you can spend money on nicer food this trip). The Contemporary is worth every penny. The rooms might be a bit dated, but if you look towards the castle, you can see the fireworks. If you overlook the lagoon you can see the nighttime water parade with music (or you could sit beachfront and watch it too). Congratulations.

I have to say this- something I personally find important in my trips to WDW. At the moderates you can RESERVE a king bed. At WL it is a request and there are not that many. This may not be a big deal to you- but when we went on our first trip the king beds at mods were not reservable and the first night we ended up in a double- and WL says they are queens but I think they are smaller. Although I love WL I think that the PO-R and POFQ resorts are beautiful and king bed room might be ummm... a consideration for a honeymoon.
