Since we are going to Disney in FL. DH and I decided that instead of putting a pile of stuff under the tree, we would save our money for our trip. But I would love to do something that would symbolize that on Xmas morning so the kids dont feel they are getting screwed by Santa:santa: :lmao:

I was thinking, since we are also going to the Daytona 500, that I would take a stuffed Mickey for DS and a stuffed Minnie for DD and put their nascar credidential holders around their necks.
Does that sound cheesy????
Anyone have any ideas how to make this a special Disney Xmas??:confused3

Seperate the items up into a couple of boxes. use big boxes, little boxes, tubes, etc, Do a countdown chain of something (we are using lollipops), each kid gets there own to open. We are hoping the PP&P parties are happening (seems that they will not) we were going to have pirates and princess costumes as gifts. We are also planning on seaworld so that will be another package. Alot of people are doing scavenger hunts to find the big gift.

Not sure how old your kids are but possibly things they will need or enjoy on their trip would be a nice thing under the tree. Chances are you will need to get some of these anway.

Autograph books/pen
Disney or NASCAR jacket or hats (it gets cold in January!)
Disney Dollars
Backpacks
Trading pins/lanyard
Hidden Mickey book or travel guide
Scrapbook supplies or phot albums
Disposable or inexpensive digital cameras

Just some ideas!

How about a set of personalize maps from WDW. You can highlight the places you like best and order them (for free!). They take about 4 weeks so order them now!

Do they know you are going? If not, then I would make a clue puzzle and wrap each puzzle piece in a different box. That way they get lots to open and the fun of putting together a puzzle. For the puzzle pieces, you can take some cardboard or stiff paper and put a disney picture on it or write something like, 'Merry Christmas, our big present this year is a disney trip.'

My kids would want pins for trading. Again, I would wrap each pin in different size packages.

Enjoy - last time we went, my kids volunteered to not have any big christmas and birthday gifts for the year. Their willingness to give up stuff so we could go made it an extra special trip for all.

like someone else said, can you wrap things they'll need on the trip?

a new piece of luggage, or even a small toiletry bag, along w/ the small toiletries (toothpaste, toothbrush, small shampoos, etc). Things you'd buy anyway for the trip.

new sunglasses, flipflops, bathingsuit (don't know when you're going), disney pj's (don't know how old your kids are), etc. I've found great buys on disney shopping online, in the clearance section.

I guess it depends on how old your kids are, but when we did this for DD, who was 6 at the time, we wrapped the Vacation Planning CD and then had her watch it. The problem was that she really didn't get what was going on, but once we told her, she cried!!

The trading pins with or without lanyards are also great ideas. We had a GG last year and it was my nephews' first times, so I ordered them personalized duffel bags from the Disney Store website with different colored bags and Mickey heads for each one (they are twins). I packed other stuff for the trip in the bags, like their pins and some stuff to do on the plane.

Have a wonderful time!

They do know we are going... I have such a hard time keeping things like this to myself, I even ordered the maps already and ran around the house screaming that our maps were here. I am worse than the kids:lmao:

Love the ideas! My fear was the kids feeling like Christmas was no big deal this year. I love the idea to get things they are going to need anyway. I might as well give it to them for Xmas. I will be buying it anyway. And it couldnt hurt to have some fun with it along the same lines of them not knowing. I have a feelign though, that I am going to be on Disneys website quite a bit today. Hopefully it isnt running slow lol.

Where do I get lanyards? I have Nascar ones with everyones favorite driver. but I dont have Disney ones.

thank you to everyone!;) ;) ;)
