So some friends of mine (parents with 2 girls ages 11 and 13) are going 2/14-2/20 and have never been and have been saving money for quite some time. I have the other days planned for them, but looking for suggestions for DHS. THey just booked yesterday so FP+ were limited....
Here's what they have:
10:00 TOT
2:30 Indiana Jones - I THINK THEY SHOULD TRADE THIS FOR STAR TOURS!?
3:55 Rockin Roller Coaster.

They were not able to get TSMM so i'm telling them to head there first then to Great Movie Ride.
I would trade Indiana Jones for Star Tours. Thoughts?
There are no fp+ left for Great Movie Ride.

Rough plan for them:
TSMM at RD
Great Movie Ride
TOT 10a FP+
Belle show 11am
Little Mermaid 12:30
Muppets 3d
Indiana Jones 2:30
Frozen Sing a long 3:30
RRC 4:00
Get 4th fp+ for anything available
Fantasmic 7 (find a seat at 6:15?) Or better off going to 9pm showing?
Star Wars fireworks 8p

thoughts?

I agree with trading for Star Tours.

With kids that age, they can go to the 2nd Fantasmic and plan to enter around 20-30 minutes before showtime or as soon as the fireworks end for the best selection of seating. The amphitheater opens 30 minutes before the 2nd Fantasmic.

weird because after using my 3 FP's at 2pm last week, the only consistent one available was for the Great movie ride. No TSM, no TOT, not even Little mermaid.

I think Indy Jones is an easy walk in so I personally would not use a FP for that, use it for Star Tours. Also wondering about dining? They may have to eat at off peak times but a sit down in Sci-Fi with its fun theme really can add to the day or one of the other restaurants. Plus a sit down meal is helpful when doing all day at a park.
We find the second showing of F! to be much less crowded and you don't have to wait as long but does make for a longer day. We always have park hoppers so we have gone into Studios for an eve and catch that later show but if they don't have hoppers that won't work. They can leave the park for dinner on the Boardwalk or Epcot area hotels then return for fireworks and late F!

I think they could go to fantasmic 9 pm. So after their 4 pm RRC, they could have early dinner around 5:30-6 at Sci Fi or Mama Melrose (if they choose this one, they might consider doing the last lunch reservation for the fantasmic dinner package). Then do the 8 pm fireworks and finish the day with Fantasmic.

Here's a good tip: With Star Wars fireworks at 8, they will probably be closing TSMM around 7. We learned during a recent visit that this is only an estimated closing time. They have to have the area cleared 30 minutes before the fireworks show starts which means that they can leave the attraction open beyond the stated close time if the line is short. We arrived at the ride 10 minutes before the "closing" time and were able to ride 3 times before they officially shut the gate and cleared the area. We still had plenty of time to find a good spot for the fireworks then the late showing of Fantasmic.

That week is President's week, so it will be very busy. I would definitely trade for Star Tours. Even during busy times, we have never entered a show with FP+, just be sure they are there within about 20 minutes of the shows. I agree, if they can fit in 50's Primetime, they will love the PBJ milkshakes as well as the hearty meals and fun atmosphere. However, they could grab food and eat in some of the theaters/shows (Indy is one of them, I believe) as is Lights, Motors. You're a great friend planning this for them, I'm sure they will have an awesome first trip!
